The Role:
- We are seeking a seasoned and experienced Audit Vice President to lead our non-financial services audit practice.
- You will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of audit engagements for clients in a variety of industries, including manufacturing, retail, healthcare, hospitality, IT/software services, and construction.
- This role requires strong leadership, technical expertise, and exceptional relationship-building skills.
Responsibilities:
Client Relationship Management:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key client executives and stakeholders.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients throughout the engagement lifecycle.
- Proactively identify client needs and develop solutions that exceed expectations.
- Manage client expectations regarding timelines, budgets, and deliverables.
Engagement Management:
- Develop and execute comprehensive audit plans for clients in diverse industries.
- Ensure all audit engagements comply with professional standards and firm guidelines.
- Supervise and mentor audit teams, fostering a culture of quality and continuous improvement.
- Manage engagement budgets and timelines to deliver high-quality work on time and within budget.
- Communicate effectively with clients and internal teams on engagement progress and critical issues.
- Lead discussions and presentations with clients regarding audit findings and recommendations.
People Management:
- Recruit, develop, and mentor talented audit professionals.
- Lead by example, fostering a collaborative and results-oriented work environment.
- Provide ongoing feedback and performance coaching to staff.
- Develop and implement training programs to enhance team skills and knowledge.
Required Skills & Experience:
- Minimum 10+ years of experience in public accounting, with a proven track record of success in leading and managing complex audit engagements.
- Extensive experience in the non-financial services sectors, including manufacturing, retail, healthcare, hospitality, IT/software services, and construction (at least 5 years).
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license required.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting (Master's degree preferred).
- Strong leadership and communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with clients and internal stakeholders.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Proficient in audit methodologies, accounting principles, and industry best practices.
- Experience in managing and mentoring audit teams.
- Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Project management experience.
Preferred Skills & Experience:
- Experience in leading international audit teams (a plus for this specific role).
- Experience with risk assessment and internal control procedures.
- Strong understanding of relevant industry regulations and standards
