Vice President - Transaction & Retail Lending Products - Consulting Firm

Job Description:

We are seeking a VP-Transaction and Retail Lending product for an Indian consulting firm offering ratings, analysis, risk and policy advice based in Powai, Mumbai . The role requires strong quantitative skills, analytical thinking, building and maintaining models to estimate key performance metrics, analyzing market trends and drivers, and providing strategic insights to support client initiatives. Additionally, the candidate must have experience in managing teams and possess excellent communication skills for client interactions and team collaboration

Responsibilities:

- Take complete ownership of explaining market trends, drivers, and reasons for changes in estimates/direction of revenues.

- Organize, analyze, synthesize, and summarize data and information using appropriate analytical methodologies and frameworks.

- Conduct quantitative analysis (statistical analysis, financial data analysis, etc.) as necessary.

- Model relationships between macroeconomic indicators and Transaction Banking, Lending, and Securities Services performance metrics to arrive at forecasts/estimates for the above KPIs.

- Update and restructure models based on qualitative and quantitative information from Coalition contacts in the IB industry.

- Build and update sector databases in Excel and/or customized applications.

- Explain, defend, and customize Coalition analysis to support key client initiatives in IB strategy, sales franchise decision, investor communication, and for senior management consumption.

- Craft effective search strategies and gather relevant information leveraging a broad set of resources (e.g., online databases, the internet, external researchers, etc.).

- Utilize both secondary and primary research sources and techniques.

- Assist clients and/or other research delivery team members in articulating and refining research requests and projects, while working on multiple projects.

- Conduct client interactions through in-person meetings as well as regular interaction over emails.

- Communicate research results through the creation of structured end-products (spreadsheets, reports, presentations, etc.).

- Complete ad hoc research requests, knowledge building, and business development projects as necessary.

- Conduct regular workflow meetings with in-house and onsite Account managers in London, New York, and Singapore.

- Manage and/or work with an expanded team of analysts while working on multiple projects.

- Delegate responsibilities and supervise the work of team members, providing guidance and motivation to drive maximum performance.

Required Experience and Skills:

- MBA or postgraduate degree in business management, statistics, economics, or similar analytical fields.

- Professional certifications like CFA, FRM, CAIA, etc. would be an added advantage.

- Must have at least 3 to 4 years of experience in managing a team size of 20+ or more.

- Strong quantitative skills, an analytical mind, and an ability to work with significant amounts of data, both numerical and qualitative.

- Prior experience in financial research and analytics.
