MAJOR FUNCTIONS
- Develop and drive the strategy and business plan of potential projects and incubated start-ups in the early stages.
- Drive the market / commercial validation process through the early stages of projects and incubated start-ups.
- Oversee and support the development and implementation of the strategies and business plans of incubated start-ups and portfolio companies in later stages.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Strategy
- Provide detailed input on potential projects as part of the selection process
- Develop the concept documents and business plans for new ideas
- Set KPI strategy and oversee performance against the team across projects
- Develop and oversee operational governance and reporting structures across projects
- Drive the development and continuous update of the investment strategy by continuously conducting financial and market analysis.
- Manage the negotiation and management of acqui-hire and founder onboarding deals from inception to closure, including the active involvement in all aspects of the due diligence process (business, financial, industry).
Business Development
- Drive and support developing the business and product strategy for new business ideas and incubated businesses, alongside founders/ Entrepreneurs in Residence - performing the business development role in the early stages of a project
- Drive the market validation process for new business ideas
- Provide resources and support to incubated startups through identification and onboarding of suitable candidates to the business development positions, & supervise accordingly
- Engage with the start-up ecosystem throughout the MENA region to generate a pipeline of opportunities aligned with the organization strategy.
- Conduct research and provide recommendations in relation to the identification of new business opportunities consistent with the growth plans
Continuous Development of Position
- Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, and maintaining personal networks.
- Keep abreast with latest financial news and corporate finance techniques/practices
Education
A bachelor degree in Finance and/or Economics, Accounting with an MBA from a top-tier business school
Minimum Professional Experience Required
- 10+ years of relevant experience
- Strategy consulting background
- Excellent business development, sales and negotiation skills
- Entrepreneurial mindset, preferably having worked in a start-up environment
- Excellent communication (written & verbal skills) in English
- Excellent sales training and objection handling skills
