Retail FP&A team is responsible for detailed Financial Reports including BS, P&L and other internal MIS. Team is responsible for Budgeting, Forecast and publication of weekly/monthly/quarterly reports
Role
Current position is to head the Retail FP&A desk and work closely with Retail Business Head in creating requisite MIS and drive retail profitability in addition to ensuring timely submission of reports to top management.
As a team leader of Retail FP&A, the role involves working closely with multiple business stakeholders to generate requisite MIS and drive retail profitability in addition to ensuring timely submission of reports to top management. As a head of retail FP&A, individual is responsible to support retail business heads to drive profitability and closely track performance against budget.
Key Responsibilities
1. Engage with Business teams for building short term/medium term strategic business plan including new Investments & granular details on business drivers
2. Work with Business teams for monthly & quarterly forecast to highlight major variance vs Plan with underlying drivers
3. Co-ordinate with central teams within Finance for Retail Banking inputs for Plan & Forecast and present detailed Plan/forecast analysis by product to seniors in F&A
4. Continue to enhance monthly NIM tracking reports to highlight movement in yields including impact of repricing. Close monitoring of new disbursements/repayment/prepayments along with yields & measure impact on portfolio
5. Build Fee analysis to show detailed break-up of fee by granular lines and clear linkage with drivers. Engage with Business teams on various fee initiatives including recovery rates, waivers, etc to identify incremental opportunities
6. Work with Business teams on Opex Plan/Forecast as well as Budgets for all Retail Banking units, with clear linkage between volume linked Opex lines & drivers. Work closely with Cost Management team to provide Retail Banking inputs and highlight any specific risk & opportunity in advance. Increase transparency and availability of cost related data points for business teams and also work closely with business teams for variance analysis and cost optimization opportunities
7. Build Retail Banking performance reports including product level performance & ROE tree. Highlight potential risks and opportunities to CFO and Business teams in advance along with potential mitigants. Robust tracking of new business volumes, including returns & marginal benefit to highlight incremental growth from key focus areas
8. Work closely with Business teams to drive growth in PSL assets across Retail Banking products 2. Evaluate IBPC proposals and provide timely update basis IBPC calculator framework, factoring in PSLC rates 3. Co-ordinate with Treasury on quarterly basis for PSLC transactions - to ensure PSL compliance for the year 4. Update to senior management on the PSL position for the year on monthly basis
9. Closely monitor competitor actions across products and do competitor analysis from time to time, to ensure any opportunity across lines (Revenue, Opex, Balance sheet, etc) is highlighted to Business teams and CFO & F&A Head
10. Evaluate profitability for new products along with setting up MIS for business units
Qualifications
Optimal qualification for success on the job is:
- Chartered Accountant with ~15 yrs in retail business finance / Retail FP&A
- Heading Retail FP&A role in last few years will be added advantage
Role Proficiencies:
For successful execution of the job, the candidate should possess the following:
- In-depth understanding of retail business finance along with product level understanding
- Excellent communication (both verbal and written) skill in both English and the local language
- Ability to understand and drive business unit level financials, product and channel financials
- Ability to manage risk and uncertainty for self and team within a dynamic priority-setting environment
- Ability to handle pressure and meet deadlines
