VP - Procurement (Chemicals)

- Responsible for the India procurement of Raw Materials, Packing Materials, and Capital Items and Traded goods with defined timelines and rates. Full accountability for the negotiations to have the optimal cost and quality. Strive for engaging Transporter & Freight Agency for fastest delivery at reduced cost.

- Ensure the support for regional and global category management process.

- Establish and drive procurement of material and services in alignment with business Leadership for your assigned commodity / category and/or region as per Annual Operating Plan and Strategic Plan.

- You will have site responsibility for driving competitive commodity and category supply strategies to achieve lowest Total Cost for your site, reduced Working capital via Negotiation planning and execution, High Growth Region Sourcing, Value Engineering and Sole/ Single Source elimination.

- You will manage Supplier Performance to support your commodity/category and/or region and ensure supply continuity.

- You will be managing several projects in dynamic environment. You will ensure compliance with company business policies and procedures, Export /Import regulations.

Key Responsibilities

- Manages all strategic and tactical third-party activities related to suppliers, direct spend, reporting, but not limited

- Identifies and drives saving opportunities, consumption reduction through negotiations

- Revisits agreed terms with existing suppliers to improve productivity and working capital

- Implements new deals and identifies new savings opportunities

- Supports implementation of automation opportunities

- Maintains a strong collaboration with all the stakeholders to ensure common target achievement

- Develops and implements the Annual Operating Plan (for legacy product together with the Business and Subcontract Managers

- Deals with invoice discrepancies in collaboration with the business stakeholders, supplier and accounts payable team

- Initiates supplier set up and changes on existing suppliers with relevant approval

- Engages in stakeholder & requisitioner communication aiming to improve understanding of procurement processes and tools

- Maintains a strong collaboration with the subcontract management team to ensure common target achievement

- Ensures all tasks are carried out in line with procurement policy and strategy

- Provides procurement support and leadership for new product introduction programs

- Partners and works closely with the cross functional integrated program team to meet objectives of quality, cost and schedule

- Holds self and other members accountable to complete assignments on time to the integrated master schedule

- Uses procurement, negotiation, and project management expertise to best meet business objectives.

Qualification And Experience:

1. 15 Plus years of experience in the Chemical industry procurement coupled with strong familiarity with understanding the product chemistry.

2. Experience in strategic sourcing, negotiation and commercial agreements.

3. Demonstrated success in cross-regional projects or initiatives.

4. Proven vendor selection and negotiation skills with strong business acumen.

5. Knowledge of negotiating and developing contracts.

6. Ability to transform strategies into actions and deliver the planned results;

7. Excellent oral and written communication skills.

8. Excellent presentation skills.
