Management and delivery of process and related application changes through the entire project lifecycle. Responsible for determining project resourcing needs, determining / securing project budgets and managing against agreed budgets. Responsible for maintaining and improving the change control processes.
Business Analysis and Design
Ensure definition and documentation of business and operations requirements and designs, aligned to business and operational strategies;
Co-ordination, review and challenge of current state analysis;
Apply best practice to determine opportunities for efficiency and improvement via process and location-focused solutioning, determining and applying innovative designs where required to meet business / operations requirements;
Provide KPIs to process owners and obtain buyin for process relocation and improvement;
Work closely with the process implementation and location teams to identify and promote changes to existing processes and related systems that are suitable for further development, automation and right-shoring;
Work closely with the location strategy and business operational teams to ensure optimal relocation of processes;
Define impact analysis of proposed changes in terms of complexity, man-day effort and cross cluster impacts;
Ensure documented designs and processes are produced/updated in accordance with BIA and Group Controls/Compliance requirements;
Work closely with HR to ensure smooth re-structuring and/ or on-boarding as required;
Lead the design and implementation of suitable controls based on identification and documentation of risks within the proposed solution;
Provide businesses with a warranty period.
Project Management
Manage and own the end to end delivery of process change and related system change within Finance;
Business case development and benefit realisation including development of the mechanism by which benefits can be realised and measured;
Detailed planning & status reporting to senior stakeholders;
Define project and business resourcing needs based on detailed project planning;
Determine, and secure agreement to, project budgets based on resource needs;
Tight scope definition and control ensuring all work is value-add and supports the strategic direction of the bank;
Quality assurance ensuring continuity and stability in BAU;
Plan and monitor progress of deliverables ensuring timely delivery within budget and to agreed levels of quality;
Effective stakeholder communications;
Manage RAIDs associated with the delivery of change.
Management
Set the overall strategy for, and manage the daily activities of, the project teams the jobholder has responsibility for and ensure compliance to applicable procedures and policy guidelines;
Develop the process current state analysis and improvement capability;
Ensure efficient allocation and utilisation of resources across the team in order to maximise effectiveness;
Take responsibility for managing the agreed cost budget including decision-making regarding deployment of resources within the team;
Undertake regular performance management, development, coaching and motivation of the team and ensure training plans are created and implemented;
Create and implement succession planning for the team;
Further develop skill sets within the Finance Change team;
Support and develop team members, including grooming and mentoring team members to handle wider span & higher responsibilities;
Grow and scale the team in line with the demand for change. Ensure recruitment, where required, is undertaken in a timely and effective manner (including direct involvement in the recruitment process e.g. participation in interviews) and ensure smooth induction of new hires in the team;
Build effective communication channels to ensure open communication and address issues / concerns raised by the team;
Ensure skills and objectives are transferable within team and can cover a portfolio of change.
Business Implementation
Ensure development of training materials, user guides (i.e. documentation for live running) and delivery support;
Ensure development and delivery of implementation plans for process and relocation solutions, including testing, training, implementation and handover to support;
Ensure effective cutover planning and execution.
Relationships
Work with Group and Business Units to understand requirements and delivery timeframes. Ensure that the level of engagement is appropriate such that their expertise/knowledge is leveraged but with minimum demand on their time;
Where necessary, negotiate with and influence senior stakeholders (e.g. in terms of finalising project resourcing) to ensure agreed project deliverables are met in the required timescales and to the level of quality required by end-users
Support colleagues with regulatory, risk and/or financial services subject matter expertise and to assist in the development of business cases for change;
Utilise experience to identify solution areas for improvement;
Keep stakeholders fully informed and obtain positive feedback for the team.
Risk and Control Objective
Ensure that all activities and duties are carried out in full compliance with regulatory requirements, Operational Risk Framework and internal Policies and Standards.
Your Qualifications and Skills will include
Basic Qualifications :
Graduate in Finance or Engineering, MBA Preferred
Accredited Lean Expert and/or Six Sigma Black Belt/ Green Belt
10-15 years- experience in process improvement/ consulting/ technology roles
Experience of working to tight deadlines in a fast-moving environment;
Experience in working with complex, interdependent process frameworks;
Experience in analysis of risks within processes and design of mitigating controls.
Experience in creating compelling business cases for implementation, backed by data
Preferred Qualifications:
MBA from a top tier institute
Strong understanding of Technology platforms and architecture
Finance and/or Banking domain knowledge
Experience with automation
Skills & Knowledge
Essential
In depth experiencing of reviewing processes end to end using Lean methodology and driving implementation
Excellent business analysis and gap analysis skills, reflecting the need to understand and interpret complex, extensive and interconnected business requirements;
Ability to work effectively to strict deadlines to ensure agreed project timelines are met
Detailed understanding of (and application of) project management disciplines and methodologies
Excellent communication skills (oral and written) with senior stakeholders, business subject matter experts, technology and HR, including
Persuasive with good interpersonal skills
Strong process, procedure and subject matter documentation skills
Knowledge of standard Finance processes to e.g. facilitate understanding, interpreting and documenting business requirements
Ability to manage business priorities in a finance environment and interact with a wide range of stakeholders across the bank, including
Understanding and supporting strategic goals and objectives
Compilation of business cases.
Education
Essential
Process improvement qualification - Black Belt Lean Six Sigma or Lean Expert
Preferred
Accountancy qualification.
Experience
Essential
Management of projects involving significant systems and/or process change and re-location;
Experience of full project lifecycle (i.e. from initiation to closure) including ownership of delivery;
Experience of working on own initiative and/or in small teams with minimum supervision;
Experience working within major financial services organisations.
