Vice President - Private Equity Investment

RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Integrally involved with all aspects of the private equity investment process, including sourcing and evaluating potential investments, performing due diligence, handling negotiations; structuring and closing transactions.

- New deal development and analysis - sourcing of investment ideas based on industry analysis and from industry network and investment bankers. Conduct analysis to determine the fit of an investment idea with the Fund's investment strategy.

- Learning and following the dynamics of the industries covered, building relationships with management teams, the firm's senior advisors, as well as external advisors and industry experts, identifying attractive investment themes and opportunities, gathering and synthesizing industry and market data.

- Extensive analysis on potential investments, including product market fit, LTV/CAC analysis, in-depth financial modelling, managing the due diligence process, including overseeing legal, tax, technology and commercial diligence advisors, drafting and presenting oral and written materials to the top management and LPs, monitoring and reporting on portfolio company performance.

- Monitoring and implementing improvements in portfolio companies, continuous business due diligence of portfolio companies. Developing and supporting operational initiatives of portfolio companies.

- Exiting investments - identifying lead indicators to trigger exit decisions, identification of prospective buyers and implementing the exit decision.

- Interacting with the Fund's LPs and prospective clients.

- Ability to join a small, dedicated team of professionals to take the PE fund management business from inception to a sizeable operation. Should be able to manage an investment team consisting of an associate and an analyst.

REPORTING:

- The VP will report to an Investment Director.

GENERAL QUALIFICATIONS:

- 5+ years of overall experience; a minimum 2-3 years of India Private Equity buy-side experience is preferred;

- Strong written and verbal communication skills, knowledge of finance and accounting is required; ability to interact with top management teams is a must;

- Understanding of business dynamics of technology sector, characteristics of good investments, and good financial and analytical skills are expected;

- Outstanding academic background with undergraduate degree from IITs / equivalent qualification, along with post graduate degree in business from premier institutes or Chartered Accountant
