Description:
Power Management(Strategy, Technology & Digital)
Purpose of the Role:
- To accelerate the implementation of RE by adapting economically viable energy storage technologies, monitor and drive the power management activity by scheduling and distribution through digitally and also lead the activity and connect with external stakeholders (governmental agencies, power industry associations, regulatory bodies, and related forums) to analyze & interpret changes in policy & regulatory framework and drive change in policies & regulations for faster adaption.
Key Responsibilities
1. Renewable Energy & Storage Technology:
- Track, analyse, propose power storage technology and execution of agreement as per the strategy framed by the company.
- Adaption of newer technology of RE power/clean power.
2. Power Management & Digital:
- Drive, lead and manage judicious use of contracted power, banked power for entire UTCL plants by mapping with generation from RE sources and consumption.
- To drive, guide and manage power desk 24/7 by adapting digital applications/software for open access project and also rolling out a detailed SOPs and guidance note for smooth functioning.
3. Regulatory:
- Support the Cell as a policy & regulatory expert by tracking changes in the policy & regulatory framework governing Power Sector and analyzing their impact on UTCL RE strategy.
- Keep abreast of changes in regulatory framework and policies; Analyse their impact on RE strategy and execute contracts (existing Power Purchase and Share Holding Agreements) and communicate the same to senior management for course correction.
- Prepare written / oral communication to be sent to officials at government, regulatory commissions, nodal agencies, etc. outlining UTCL's response to proposed regulatory and policy changes.
- Expectation of position holder
- To analyse and suggest various storage technologies in energy sectors for accelerating RE.
- To drive digitally and lead the power management and distribution through open access.
- Good in oral and written communication and able to self-manage day-to-day work with lesser dependency.
Expected candidate Profile:
- A minimum of 15 years of working experience various role in managing energy projects, especially in renewable power generation, distribution and storage.
- Preferably a bachelor's degree in engineering, with a Master's degree in RE power management.
- Extensive knowledge of best practices in power distribution planning, data analysis contract and regulatory procedures and compliance.
- Ability to work in a team environment with multiple reporting priorities
