Job Summary:
The Vice President (SVP) will act as a Deputy to the Chief Operating Officer with specific responsibility to ensure supportive and responsive day-to-day management of the operational aspects of the company, in addition to ensuring that delivery of a full range of operational targets.
The post holder will be an integral member of the Chief Operating Officer's team, supporting the implementation of process enhancements, delivery of operational metrics, together with timely ramp-up of new projects and assisting in the business planning process.
There will be a strong emphasis on the need to develop a culture of performance management and delivery, improvement and appraisal as a foundation for excellent organizational performance. The candidate will have to institutionalize and manage the delivery of agreed performance indicators in relation to production, efficiencies and dispatches.
The post-holder will oversee Plant Managers across multiple facilities and also be expected to work closely with R&D and development team on efficient planning of submission batches without significantly impacting the delivery promise to the customers. SVP is also expected to facilitate his team to dynamically manage production priorities given sudden drug shortages in the market, R&D deadlines, among others.
SVP is expected to work with the senior team to identify suitable benchmarking opportunities for improved productivity, efficiency, delivery and quality.
In addition the above, SVP will be a thoughtful partner and member of senior leadership ream responsible for developing medium to long term strategic priorities for the company.
Budgeting & Operational Delivery:
- Prepare and submit an annual operational budget to the CEO and CFO for review and approval, manage effectively within this budget, and report accurately on progress made and challenges encountered.
- Creating and maintaining efficient manufacturing system and achieving target with cost and quality to achieve vision of the organization.
- Administer the process of capacity enhancement to meet market requirement.
- Implement and lead a continuous quality improvement process throughout the service areas, focusing on systems/process improvement.
Resource Management
- To support the development and implementation of organization wide cost savings schemes, through service and productivity improvement.
- To ensure that financial and budget requirements across areas of responsibility are met, including delivery of cost efficiency targets.
- Ensure all budgets are in line with the annual financial plan.
- Develop and implement systems to monitor and control expenditure and investigate any areas of overspend and take prompt corrective action.
Strategic Planning & Execution :
- Participate actively in formulating the short term and long term operations strategy including operating efficiencies.
- Lead the planning team for developing, implementing and institutionalizing a strategic scheduling process
Supply Chain Management
- Provide vision and direction to development of Strategy and Operational Planning Modules, Production Planning policies, Reporting Systems, Inventory strategy, Supply Chain optimization and strategic cost initiatives across the Supply Chain (added).
- Guide the startup of Supply Chain Planning systems and technology advancement in Supply Chain Planning.
- Facilitate regular reviews of Budget analysis related to Capacity, Production and Inventory Planning.
People Management & Leadership :
- Provide leadership and act as a coach and mentor for Plant Managers, planning team, warehouse leaders, line managers and other personnel reporting to this role.
- Play an active role in managing the resourcing process through continuous evaluation of existing and future resource alternatives, pro-active planning and collaboration with the team leadership and operational peers.
- Coaching employees identify training needs and provide training on specific capabilities based on future plans and business requirements.
- Create a supportive organizational culture in which people feel empowered and committed.

- Contribute to the development, communication and promotion of the corporate core purpose, vision, mission & values.
Education Qualifications:
- Candidate should be a Graduate/Post Graduate in Pharma & MBA from a premier institute is preferred
Experience:
- At least 15 years of professional experience in Pharmaceuticals or related industries, with a minimum of 5 years of senior-leadership role in operations and planning.
Required Skills (Functional/ Technical):
- Reporting to the COO, through a respectful, constructive and energetic style, guided by the objectives of the company will provide the leadership, management and vision necessary to ensure the company has the proper operational controls, administrative and reporting procedures, and people systems in place to effectively continue growth and to ensure financial strength and operating efficiency.

Challenges
- Needs to be hands - on in building system. Should have been involved in building systems rather than having just worked in well-established and entrenched systems.
- Should have good experience in developing solutions from ground realities along with imposing time tested templates to resolve issues.
