VP Operations - Kerala

Looking for a Vice President Operations based out of Palakkad - Kerala

Client is a successful FMCG company , leading the market in south . Currently eyeing the next orbit of growth through Venture Capital Investments

The position reports into the Founder and Managing Director

1. Position Objective:

a. Provide overall direction and guidance to the manufacturing activities of the organization with the objective of maximizing growth and profitability as well as day-to-day leadership and management of all manufacturing operations

2. Reporting:

a. Founder and Managing Director

3. Strategic Management :

a. Set Strategic direction for all manufacturing operations and translate the strategy to specific plans to achieve business goals and objectives

b. Implement strategies for plant capacity optimization and overall operations efficiency

4. Business Operations :

a. Manage manufacturing operations by directing and coordinating activities consistent with established goals, objectives, and policies of the company

b. Work closely with the CEO to link production effort with sales strategy and customer requirements

c. Establish & maintain budgetary control and ensure cost optimization.

d. Lead, Direct and Support implementation of environmental and safety regulations

e. Ensure all regulatory compliances related to manufacturing operations are met at all times

5. People and Team :

a. Establish accountability and ownership of the manufacturing deliverables against the manufacturing plan

b. Effectively implement all aspects of Human Resources including Organizational Development, Performance Management , Skill development, Recruitment, HR Planning and Compensation Planning

c. Provide coaching, direction and leadership support to team members in order to achieve business results

d. Responsible for the management of team personnel which includes performance management and competency building activities

6. Continuous Improvement :

a. Implement improved processes and management methods to generate higher ROI and workflow optimization

b. Provide leadership for quality and cost improvement by adopting initiatives such as Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma

7. Business Metrics :

a. Production outcomes in line with Sales and finance

b. Quality and Brand adherence

c. Cost targets

d. Process Excellence

e. Compliance

8. Internal Interactions: Sales, Finance, Procurement / Stores, External Interactions: BOD, Share Holders, Partners/Vendors/Suppliers, Consultants, Customers, Government Bodies, Public Forums, Industry Associations, Auditors

9. Education:

a. BE / B Tech

10. Experience:

a. 20 years in Soap and Detergent Manufacturing

11. Skills:

a. Knowledge of all Manufacturing Processes and Best Practices

b. Planning, Formulation and Implementation of Manufacturing Strategies

c. Budgeting, Costing and Production Planning

d. Understanding of Customer's Business and Products

e. Conversant with TQM, Lean and Six Sigma Principles

f. Aware of HSE standards and statutory compliances

g. Cost and Inventory Management and Control

h. Conversance with Drugs / Chemicals compliance requirements

i. Knowledge of Chemicals/detergent fundamentals

j. Maximize returns from Partner/Vendor contracts

k. Knowledge of Manufacturing and Maintenance equipment used in the plant
