Department & Role Overview:

Risk Management supports to achieve its business goals by partnering with business units across the firm, providing independent advice to the Board and protecting the firm from exposure to losses as a result of credit, market, operational and other risks. Operational Risk Management is the risk oversight function for operational risk and provides risk guidance and credible challenge to the business and corporate functions. The role resides within the firm's Operational Risk Management function reporting to the Head of Central ORM, based in London.

The Data Analytics role will be responsible for defining and implementing Operational Risk Management's data strategy and agenda. This includes driving transformation through data capabilities and elevating Operational Risk Management's intelligent data usage and culture. The role also includes working in partnership with the Group Data Office ensuring that the firm's data assets are managed in line with the firm's data management framework, policy and standards.

Role description -

- Establish a data strategy to develop and improve Operational Risk Management data capability and usage.

- Establish a strong partnership with Group Data Office to ensure the Operational Risk Management data strategy aligns to the Firm's global data management framework.

- Act as a subject matter expert for Operational Risk Management in relation to articulating and delivering the requirements and use of data in forward looking operational risk analysis and reporting.

- Lead in executing the data strategy for Operational Risk to support the objectives of the function.

Skills, experience, qualifications and knowledge required:

- Five or more years of relevant operational risk management framework or reporting.

- Operational familiarity with metadata management, data quality, data stewardship and experience in the use of associated technologies (data catalog, data quality management platforms).

- Knowledge of Cloud based big data frameworks such as data lake, relational, Graph and other no SQL databases

- Proficient in use of MS Office Tools, Confluence, Tableau, Alteryx.

- Excellent communication (verbal, written, listening) and interpersonal skills

- Able to analyse complex situations and derive workable actions

- Able to constructively challenge requirements and current state to increase overall value to the firm

- Ability to understand and integrate cultural differences and work effectively with virtual cross-cultural, cross-border teams

- Advanced analytic skills related to working with unstructured datasets

- Previous experience with big data, data pipelines, architectures, and data set

- Familiarity with machine learning frameworks and libraries

- Strong data dashboard and reporting skills systems
