- Provide Strategic Direction to the logistics operations in India and provide seem less support to the business
- Fleet Management
- Creation of right org structure to support operations - create dynamic and skilled teams with ability to control operations
- Direct the planning, organization, and management of the daily shipment schedule.
- Develop inbound and outbound transportation networks with a focus on cycle time, cost and quality of service.
- Ensure lowest cost lane segments for the level of cycle time and frequency requirements.
- Develop and manage a logistics cost reporting process and reduce logistics cost as percent of COGS on an annual basis.
- Develop and manage a logistics revenue model that tracks logistics revenue and profitability by customer project.
- Proficient in creation of budget - on various operational models that suit the city/business requirements; creation of cost control measures, presentation of MIS reports, decks to the leadership and other stake holders
- Creation of complaint management systems - pro-active addressing of complaints and requests in line with policies
- Creation and submission of MIS reports to provide real time operational data on operational efficiency, time, cost including during BCP scenario
- Benchmark costs against the industry and internal operational models to ensure efficiency of operations leads to cost efficiency
- Create MIS reports to be submitted to leadership, Finance and BUs
- Ensure smooth function of day to day Supply Chain for Transport Operations.
- Creation of right safety guidelines for transport operations and ensure effective implementation and audit
- Auditing based on the requirements of the SOX
- Ensure team has KRAs and quarterly assessment completed on performance
- Work with GPT in Identifying and building a strong vendor base that meets the organization's standards
- Set up regular meetings and briefing with BUs to set expectations and create confidence on the conduct of operations
- Create right processes and procedures to ensure transparency in dealings, invoice processing and payments
- Bring in changes to use technology to support efficient management of logistics operations
Qualification, Experience & Skill Sets:
1. Graduate or post graduate with diploma in management preferred with Minimum 15 + years of experience in similar areas and work experience in Logistics or Telecom Industry
2. Demonstrated success developing and leading high performance cross-functional teams and complex project management that deliver quantifiable results.
3. Direct experience in successful development and implementation of logistics networks.
4. Demonstrated success in reducing logistics cost.
5. Superior interpersonal, facilitation and change management skills in multi-cultural manufacturing environments. Ability to lead and influence people.
6. Strong analytical and organizational skills including the ability to collect, structure, analyze and communicate large volumes of complicated data.
7. Cost effective focus and Vendor Management skills / experience are essential. Work with inter-departments to augment existing requirements and initiate / achieve new assignments
8. Candidate should have ability to manage existing drivers, arrange new drivers as per companies policies and must be able to monitor fleet in terms of performance, turn around and operations.
9. Implement SOX-compliant procedures in day-to-day operations
10. Solid knowledge of IT infrastructure and tools including ERP systems (Oracle knowledge a plus). Proficiency with MS Office products (Excel, PowerPoint, Word required; Access plus).
11. Must have very good communication skills - verbal and written. Very good with presentations, data analysis and making business cases
