Position : Vice President (Logistics)

Location : Jajpur Road (Orissa)

Critical Extent of flexibility

- Qualification Commerce/Engineering graduate with MBA / PGDM in the field of (SCM/Logistics/Transport) - Preferably

Years of experience : 20 - 30 years

Age : 40 - 50 Years

- Candidate Profile Critical Exposure/Experience deemed essential by client

- Should have good analytic and problem solving skills.

- Strong Interpersonal skills with high commercial acumen.

- Knowledge of custom rules and procedures, EXIM policies, contracting, etc.

- Should be assertive with strong communication and leadership skills.

- Should possess strategic Leadership and negotiation Skills.

- Should be a seasoned professional from a large manufacturing plant from the process industry.

- Strong Inter - personal traits with good Liasioning and PR skills.

- Should have a performance oriented mindset. Proactive and result oriented

- Should be an effective team builder and good in Man Management.

- The candidate should be having relevant experience of at least 20 years in manufacturing industry (preferably) with 10-12 years of experience in contracting with service providers, custom clearance of export/import consignments handling 800 to 1000 containers in a month.

- Should have handled both containerized and break bulk movement of raw material and finished goods.

- Flexibility in experience

Job Responsibilities :

Key Areas of Responsibility and Accountability :

- Long term contracting with service providers for domestic and export logistics.

- Defining policies, processes for unit level logistics operations and effectively monitoring/controlling the same.

- Strategize, plan, monitor and control the EXIM and Domestic logistics operations to ensure timely availability of raw materials at units and timely dispatches of finished goods with maximum customer satisfaction at optimum cost.

- Plan and ensure proper implementation of appropriate logistics strategy to meet monthly dispatch targets for finished goods and timely arrival of raw materials.

- Explore multi model options for the Odisha plant to reduce the cost of logistics and lead time.

- Ensure cost optimization through logistics solutions including lower demurrage, detention cost and transport optimization

- Bringing in synergy between export and import activities in order to ensure optimal usage of available resources, infrastructures and manpower for both the activities.

- Manage, monitor and control the vendors to ensure availability of pool of capable vendors to support the logistics operations.

- Ensure timely availability of MIS reports from the team in order to identify areas of improvement, make alternative strategies and take corrective actions to close the gap.

- Management of human resources of the department in order to have an engaged, competent team and enable a working environment that drives high performance.

- Ability to understand and interpret data/information to be able to have a holistic view of the market. Refers to the ability to analyze any inputs on market information, competition information etc. and make sure that adequate and effective plans are there to meet situations.

Building Effective Team (weightage - 10%) :

- The ability to unify the organization and to create inter team synergy
