The VP, Learning and Development reports to the SVP - Global Operations and serves as the primary business interface in order to ascertain the design and delivery of technical and professional development training.
Essential Job Functions:
- Lead relationship with business leaders to clearly understand business goals to understand training and development needs.
- Ensure timely delivery of training programs (technical cohort trainings, training for technical proprietary software and general employee and supervisory skills training).
- Participate as part of a broader cross functional team to provide key input on talent issues (e.g. High Potential identification, succession planning, and other Talent Management initiatives).
- Provides leadership to the Learning and Development Department and aligns team to act as strategic business partners to understand business goals, issues and needs.
- Identifies and procures external training resources and partnerships to maximize training efficiency.
- Continually assesses the operational effectiveness of training and development to deliver service, reevaluate approaches, and introduce innovations to change paradigms that are ineffective.
- Maintain regular and punctual attendance.

Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Manages staff and carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Qualifications:

Education and/or Experience:
- Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree in related field preferred.
- 12-15+ years' experience in the learning and development arena, prior experience in the Lending Industry preferred.
- Proven track record in developing Senior Level partnerships across a diverse business segment.
- Deep expertise in business-focused learning and development/training functions with ability to translate synergies between talent strategies and other human resource processes.
- Proven track record of completing projects to specifications while dealing with challenges such as cross-team dependencies, changing schedules and constantly evolving requirements.
- Expertise in leading enterprise-wide change programs.
