Vice President - Internal Audit - BFS

Job Purpose

The Audit Manager is responsible for planning, organizing, executing, and completing the internal audits. The candidate should be well-versed in assessing business risks and controls and is expected to add value with practical, business-focused solutions to improve risk management practices and play an advisory role as a subject matter expert. The Retail Team conducts Audits of Product Management, Business & Segment activities, Risk management, Operations, Regulatory, and shared functions. The scope of the audit will also cover digital banking business and digitalization initiatives undertaken by the Retail, Channels, and Digital Banking segments. As part of the function's efforts to enhance data analytics capability and application, the candidate will participate in and drive the adoption of data analytics in more audit projects to increase audit effectiveness and efficiency.

Key Result Areas

- Perform, support, or lead, the planning, fieldwork, and reporting of Retail/Digital Banking Internal audit engagements to deliver agreed assurance objectives to established standards.

- Follow up audit recommendations post-audit, assess residual risk, validate remedial work performed, and document and close issues. Actively track and escalate, where appropriate, significant issues and audit findings that remain unresolved.

- Perform and document aspects of Internal Audit's quarterly/half yearly continuous monitoring program to identify changes to risk assessments, audit plans, or audit universe. Actively contribute to the automated auditing initiative for efficient and Continuous Auditing. Responsible for CA scenario and query development.

- Act as liaison with stakeholders to ensure a complete understanding of business strategy, plans, products, performance, and digital risk-related issues at the business unit level.

- Draft and report audit findings promptly to be included in Management and Audit Committee presentations.

- Share Digital Banking and Data Analytics knowledge, skills, and experience with team members to guide and assist their development. Supervise and coach junior team members.

- Competent in assessing the risk environment and responding to changes through the annual risk assessment process.

- Effective leadership, handling team / direct reports - motivate, inspire, and develop them through coaching, training, and providing timely feedback.

- Applies an in-depth understanding of the inter-relationships of business and support units throughout the Bank and how they impact the overall control environment and the audit approach.

Knowledge, Skills And Experience

- CA or MBA. Professional audit certification preferred (CIA); additional specialist qualification would be an advantage (e.g., CAMS, CISA, etc.)

- Audit experience in a Consumer banking role with demonstrated execution capabilities according to strict timetables.

- Effective written, verbal, and presentation communication and report writing skills are essential.

- Demonstrates experience in managing teams and managing integrated internal audit and assurance delivery.

- A thorough understanding of Digital Banking, including the dimension of digitization within banks, is required. Good knowledge of product management/operations/compliance.

- Business Data Analytics, Knowledge of Query Development using SQL or similar databases and Continuous Auditing methodologies.

- Experience in Enterprise Risk Management, Credit risk modelling, Basel Guidelines, ICAAP, and IFRS 9 is preferred.
