Vice President - Independent Price Verification - BFS

- This is a VP position reporting directly to the head of Product Control and involves supervising and managing all the Offshore processes performed by our Independent Price Verification of 30 controllers

- Becoming the key contact for the business for any onshore queries or questions. 

- Building and maintaining relationships with all internal clients in all regions and you will be expected to work closely with traders, market risk, model risk, quants and senior management

- Actively involved in project and re-engineering initiatives to improve the processes with other counter-parties across different divisions and regions. This includes participation in or instigation of tactical and strategic initiative

- Involvement in review and updates of policies and procedures and ensuring these are appropriately implemented

- Reviewing tasks assigned to your team and as a point of escalation you will be responsible for supporting them in resolving any issues in their processes

- Help implement a best practice control environment

- At least +10 years of product control, middle office or other relevant banking experience with a good understanding of the key IPV and Structured Deal

- Review processes and potential inherent control & operational risks

- Good knowledge of quantitative concepts applied to financial products

- Good understanding of the valuation structured products and appreciation of the relationship between market risk exposure, valuation and P&L.

- Strong Project Management skills with experience of executing and delivering on programs of strategic change

- Familiarity of interacting and representing your function with External Regulators and Auditors

- Good understanding of other finance departments such Treasury, Financial Control, Regulatory Capital and MIS team. Any experience of working in these functions will be very beneficial for this role.

- Exhibit meticulous attention to detail, with ability to examine element of markets and ability to work well in a group as a team player. 

- Manage up and down knowledge of the latest industry developments and changing regulatory requirements, combined with a good understanding of financial products and ability to confidently explain a complex product or transaction to senior management

- Strong communication skills. You will be able to interact and confidently communicate with senior management within the firm while representing the interests of your function. You will need to know how to speak with people at all levels.

- Strong written communication skills. In this role you will be required to prepare reports or presentations for senior management consumption.
