Vice President - IFRS9 - MNC Bank Mumbai
- VP role supporting the head of the team through delivery of assigned tasks/projects and by deputizing on calls and in meetings as required.
- The role also entails the line management of a team based in Mumbai.
- Working in partnership with internal stakeholders including other SAM colleagues, Finance and Credit Risk colleagues and, on occasion FLOD colleagues the objective of the role is to ensure that the team consistently provide an excellent level of service whilst undertaking the following activities:.
- Delivery of IFRS 9 to SAM and supporting senior management with Impairment and Forbearance oversight and reporting for International.
- Undertaking various controls activities to maintain a robust governance framework within SAM
- Supporting SAM Deal Teams by undertaking various administrative tasks necessary for the successful management of SAM names from adoption to case closure
- Supporting senior colleagues and participation in the delivery of projects and information requests, including for which SAM contributes as part of the Group.
What will you be doing?
- Operate as a team leader with line management responsibilities for SAM team based in Mumbai, support the growth and development of team members in line with the Bank's approach and annual review timetable
- Take ownership and responsibility for the completion and delivery of tasks/projects assigned by the head of the team, including:
- Responsibility for ensuring that impairment remains aligned to business strategic aims through analysis and understanding of performance and impaired book trends.
- Management of analysis and review for BI portfolios
- Oversee the preparation of reports and present findings to senior risk management, audit, regulatory reporting, Finance, and other internal groups.
- Overseeing colleagues working with SAM Deal Teams to ensure necessary administrative activities are performed for cases adopted into the SAM portfolio. This will include undertaking the necessary notifications and system updates required to ensure that a name is recorded as being part of the SAM portfolio, ongoing maintenance of relevant credit risk systems and other ad hoc administrative tasks required depending on the particular circumstances of the case
- Personal adherence to governance, compliance and lending portfolio controls, and conformance regulations applicable to your role.
- Oversee the review and testing of the SAM controls including SOX controls, testing of certain controls and recording and reporting of results. Ensure that all activities performed on time and to a high standard.
- Support the annual Risk and Control Self-Assessment exercise.
- Participation in and contribution to a range of internal and Group projects which the team supports from time to time

- Strong background in financial analysis and an ability to understand the drivers behind model driven results

- Experience of working with corporate clients and/or knowledge of financing products and services used by Investment and Corporate Banking clients

- Knowledge of lending documentation e.g. facility documentation, security documentation
- Knowledge of IFRS 9 Accounting standards.

- Experience of operating controls and drawing conclusions from the outcome
- Experience of interpreting Global Policies and Standards and applying to local operating procedures
