Vice President Head Compliance
The ideal candidate will have most or all of the following attributes :
- 15-17 years overall experience with proven experience in managing senior global and local stakeholders across levels
- Prior experience in managing a Compliance Oversight program in a large complex organization in the financial services sector is preferred
- Proven experience in attracting, motivating and retaining a talented workforce
- A demonstrable interest in Compliance issues impacting
- Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining attention to detail
- Strong communications, project management, and organizational skills
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills
- Strong computer skills including knowledge of word processing, Share Point and Excel
- Degree in Management or equivalent
- Be a team player, and have a desire to learn or learn more about Compliance matters as they impact the Asset Management business
- This is a senior position, part of the local Executive Committee (EXCO) to oversee and manage the Compliance Oversight Program ( COP) as it applies to the Bangalore entity and to lead direct the local Compliance staff
- This position will administer Corporate and Compliance policies and the Code of Ethics ( Code ) as it applies to the local entity.
- The person will also work with global Compliance Officers and senior stakeholders to plan and execute the Compliance Center of Excellence ( CoE ) initiative which is operational in Bangalore.
- In particular he or she will work independently on general assignments within scope of established guidelines and practices, provide guidance to less experienced staff, and consult with the CCO/designee where clarification or exception to policy may be required.
- Moreover the Head of Compliance will participate in compliance risk management projects and activities and may have direct contact with regulatory agencies, internal and external auditors, and other internal control groups on compliance-related issues.
Additionally, the role includes but is not limited :
- Conduct assigned responsibilities within their section of the overall Compliance function and execute a range of complex tasks and analyses to support the business unit and department goals
- Maintain and continuously develop knowledge around core product, financial markets and technology Develop and maintain comprehensive management reporting
- Lead and/or participate in committees as needed
- Recruit, retain and develop talent
- Provide regular feedback and dialogue to ensure optimal employee engagement
- Complete assigned periodic training as required by corporate methodology (annually, quarterly, etc)
- Ensure proper delivery of all relevant training to new hires and staff
- Provide coaching and development opportunities to staff including timely completion of mid-year and year-end performance reviews
- Make effective recommendations to hire, discipline, control work, determine promotions, salary increases, bonuses and terminate employment
- Ensure self and team anticipates, monitors, actively manages and reports all risk and compliance issues, breaches and suspicious activities
- Act in accordance with Risk Excellence and role model Ethical behavior and decision making as part of the Ahead foundation
