Description Purpose of the Role

The TTS Sanctions O&T is a newly created function supporting Sanctions processes globally across the Organization's TTS business.
- This function strives to a) Make Sanctions processes a Competitive Advantage; (b) Drive efficient, agile technology and processes (c) Full compliance to strategic operating model across TTS lines of business (d) Build strong risk / controls focus, ensure minimal surprises and (e) Deliver on all targeted improvement programs
- This role serves as the TTS Operations manager directly managing a team of about 2-3 full time employees responsible for executing quality assurance requirements as per Organization's Sanctions Policies and Standards.
- Role will be part of a team that is responsible for broader governance and monitoring framework that maintains risk levels within the firm's risk appetite and protects the franchise in a manner consistent with the Organization's policies and risk framework across all LOBs, namely Payments and Receivables, Trade, Commercial Cards and Account Services in 90+ countries globally.
- The role will engage with the TTS Operations and Technology Seniors on sanctions matters including but not limited to quality assurance outcomes. The incumbent will be also responsible for continuous improvement of Level 1 and Level 2 Sanctions dispositions execution across TTS businesses to not only ensuring quality but also consistency in a very efficient manner through data analytics.
Key Activities :
- Proactively leads quality assurance framework of Level 1 and Level 2 Sanctions dispositions and provides governance and oversight for all TTS Operations.
- Performing complex analyses of comparative data and monitoring trends to identify compliance related issues, managing escalations of issues (clients and internal) and ensuring all such issues are remediated in a sustainable manner.
- Minimizing compliance related issues through proactive reviews of processes, management of risk and control processes (e.g. lessons learnt mechanism, review of processes etc.), root case analysis and embedding learnings across TTS.
- Responsible for continuous improvement across TTS businesses for the execution of Level 1 and Level 2 Sanctions activities. Formulate improvement plans touching timeliness, disposition quality, consistency of processes and efficiency of Sanctions operations by leveraging data analytics.
- Formulate strategies for individual and group remediations based on outcome of quality assurance.
- Develop a strategy for training and feedback mechanism by leveraging the available data and outcomes of continuous improvement plans.
- Serves as liaison with Internal Audit, and Compliance Assurance Teams on critical Compliance issues and oversees the implementation of related remediation. Collaborating with other internal areas including: ICRM Sanctions, Control Functions, and In-Business Risk to address compliance issues which may impact TTS business, products and procedures and ensures learnings are deeply embedded across Operations teams.
- Managing and supporting O&T sanctions initiatives as required, such as the implementation of new Compliance systems, detective and preventive controls, and related project management work efforts.
- Staying abreast of relevant changes to Organizarion's sanctions policies, identifies impact of such changes on TTS procedures and proactively works with O&T teams globally to adopt such changes in manner that is consistent with policies and is sustainable on the long run.
- Additional duties as assigned.
Education level and/or relevant experience(s)
- Experience in Transaction Banking products and handling regulatory / compliance matters; experience with influencing cross functional teams, experience in handling policies, issues and remediation.
- Proven track in managing quality assurance functions. Experience in Internal Audit and Independent Risk Management would be an advantage.
- 8+ years of relevant regional and/or global experience in a financial institution
- A Bachelor's agree in any subject would be preferred
- An advanced degree (e.g. Masters, MBA) OR certification like ACAMS, CIA, CFSA would be a
