- Responsible for daily management of fund accounting staff directly or through subordinate supervisors. Participates in extensive problem-solving. Makes decisions regarding employment, reviews performance appraisals, training, disciplinary actions, and salary recommendations.
- Manages all issues which are escalated by previous profile and ensures appropriate onward escalation to the next levels as required. Responsible for building the right control environment and metrics to monitor and track performance delivery. Work towards achieving efficiency through process and technology enhancements to meet the annual goals.
KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE :
- Degree in finance, accounting, economics, or equivalent experience.
- 12-15 years experience with trades, pricing, corporate actions, fund accounting, security database, or custody environment.
- Advanced fund accounting principles and theories.
- Experience with implementing process improvement methodology and/or demonstrated experience with efficiency improvement.
- Ability to effectively communicate with, internal and external clients.
- Mid to large size management experience, direct and remotely.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- In-depth knowledge and understanding of global investment markets, instruments types, fund types, and accounting policies
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience in people management (inc. training, resource planning, etc)
- Control and procedure-oriented
- Computer literate - Word, Excel, etc
- Knowledge of Invest One accounting system would be beneficial but not essential
- Knowledge of Custody and how it operates would be beneficial but not essential
