Lead and manage the Financial Research Group (FRG) group comprising senior and junior team members
- FRG is the team focused on conducting research in streams like equity research, credit research, fixed income and corporate finance for FS clients
- Ensure project delivery meets and exceeds client expectations and TSC standards
- Manage and train team members on a regular basis
- Plan and manage hiring decisions for the group, grow the existing group, and build a team of dedicated members
- Manage career development of team members
- Guide senior members of the team on project management, client management and specific technical skills
- Manage and supervise multiple project teams
- Identify training needs and organize various trainings by allocating team members and training modules
- Play active role in business development activities, provide support to sales team in terms of identifying solutions for specific business problems and strengthening the sales pitch
Role Expectations: People Management:
- Capable of managing a group of 75+ Associates/Senior Associates/Research Leads with responsibilities such as steering the team in the right direction, and ensuring all work is aimed at meeting client objectives
- Manage and drive growth of team size
- Manage team morale and motivate team members to navigate through tense situations
- Provide effective, on-time and objective feedback to team members; provide effective/constructive feedback for their overall grooming and development
- Act as a guide and mentor to team members
- Actively involved in the career growth of team members including Senior Research Leads/Research Leads, chalking out their growth path on a monthly basis and tracking the same to ensure constant growth; responsible for appraisal of Senior Research Leads in the group
- Identify and address people issues at group and organization levels
- Enhance the talent quotient of the unit by periodically meeting with the analysts or Project Leads to instill best practices of research execution, project management and client relationship management
Role Expectations: Client Management & Business Development:
Liaise closely with the sales organization in the US and UK, working together to initiate as well as close new work; work in tandem with the business development heads to identify opportunities to further expand presence with existing clients and look out for new clients by leveraging the existing capabilities
- Participate in sales calls/conferences to showcase TSC expertise
- Attend conferences in the US, Europe and India

- Ability to have face to face client interaction, presenting TSC capabilities and discussing their business needs
- Oversee multiple clients with the help of designated clients leads; would include regular interaction with the key clients to strengthen the relationship and identifying opportunities to act as a solutions provider
- Involved in vetting proposals for large/complex projects in the pipeline for key accounts
- Identify opportunities to cross-sell and provide value-adds to aid in growing the client accounts in the long run
- Anticipate client needs and pitch with new services to boost existing relationships
- Aid in decision making related to client management
Role Expectations: Project Management & Product Development:
Expertise in overseeing multiple project teams being led by Research Leads and play the role of an advisor, where required
Demonstrated ability to:
- Understand research objectives, direct research strategy, validate exhaustiveness in resolving the research problem
- Strategically guide Research Leads, where required, who are responsible for project execution
- Ensure that client objectives translate into clear deliverables
- Estimate the effort required in a project to ensure efficient utilization of resources
- Take complete ownership of quality
- Develop solutions to problems, balancing the risks and implications across multiple projects
- Understand client needs to develop products that can be taken to market
- Test new product ideas with clients (on a sample basis)
- Continuously tweak and enhance existing product offerings to endure client requirements are being met
Work Experience 10+ years of experience in financial research industry (KPO) or similar profiles
Experience in handling large team(s):
- In depth understanding of financial research streams like equities / credit / corporate finance
- Thorough knowledge of financial analysis and valuations, industry analysis, macroeconomic analysis
- Thorough understanding of various types of financial services clients for KPOs and their typical requirements
- Knowledge of various databases such as Bloomberg, Thomson One, Dialog, Merger Market
- Master's or Post Graduate degree in Finance or Chartered Accountant
- Additional financial certifications such as CFA, CPA, courses on option pricing, bond valuation, risk management
