Vice President - Finance Controller - CA

Job Summary:

The Finance Controller is a senior-level position responsible and will work with the larger team to ensure financial compliance, reporting, and strategic decision-making support for the business.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Reporting and Compliance:

- Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with reporting standards and regulations.

- Manage the financial close process, including the preparation of balance sheets, income statements, cash flow statements, and other key financial reports.

- Ensure adherence to all applicable accounting standards, laws, and regulations, including IFRS, Indian Accounting Standards (Ind-AS), and tax laws.

- Liaise with internal and external auditors to facilitate audits and address any audit findings.

- Manage the overall financial control environment, including the implementation of robust internal controls and risk management processes.

Budgeting, Forecasting, and Analysis:

- Lead the annual budgeting and forecasting process, collaborating with various business units to develop comprehensive financial plans.

- Monitor financial performance against budgets and forecasts, and provide timely insights and recommendations to the leadership team.

- Conduct in-depth financial analysis, identifying trends, variances, and opportunities for cost optimization and process improvements.

- Support strategic decision-making by providing financial modeling, scenario analysis, and business case evaluations.

Tax compliances:

- Ensure compliances to Direct and Indirect taxes including filing of timely returns

- Advise on tax positions being taken in the while finalizing key contracts and agreements

Investors Engagement & IRDA Compliances:

- Proactively engage with Investors and deliver various reports / data and information needed per the SHA

- Drive the IRDA compliances working closely with the Principal Officer and support in filing of timely returns and other compliances

- Independently evaluate the compliance with the IRDA regulation and highlight gaps

Talent Management and Team Leadership:

- Lead, mentor, and develop the finance team, fostering a high-performance culture and building a strong talent pipeline.

- Implement best-in-class finance processes, systems, and controls to drive operational efficiency and enhance the finance function's strategic value.

Role : VP - Finance Controller

- Represent the finance function on the India leadership team and contribute to the overall strategic direction of the business.

Qualifications and Experience:

- Chartered Accountant (CA) with 10-15 years of progressive experience in finance, with at least 5-7 years in a senior finance leadership role

- Proven track record of leading a finance function and driving business performance in a complex, fast-paced environment

- Comprehensive understanding of financial accounting, reporting, budgeting, and control processes

- Expertise in financial analysis, business partnering, and strategic decision-support

- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to translate financial data into meaningful insights

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively liaise with cross-functional stakeholders

- Proficiency in using finance and accounting software, as well as data analysis tools
