VP Finance and Compliance Head

Responsible for overseeing the financial operations and ensuring regulatory compliance of the Alternate Investment Fund (AIF).

This role requires a deep understanding of financial management, regulatory frameworks, and compliance requirements specific to AIFs in India. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Management:

- Develop and implement financial strategies to support the fund's objectives.

- Oversee the preparation of financial statements, budgets, forecasts, and reports.

- Oversee expenses and implement financial control and rigor for expenses monitoring

- Manage cash flow, investments, and financial planning activities.

- Ensure accurate and timely reporting to investors and regulatory authorities.

- Conduct financial analysis and provide insights to support decision-making.

- Coordinate with external auditors for annual audits and ensure timely resolution of audit findings.

Compliance:

- Ensure the fund's operations comply with SEBI and IFSCA regulations and other applicable laws and work with various service providers necessary.

- Develop and maintain compliance policies, procedures, and manuals.

- Monitor changes in regulatory requirements and update compliance frameworks accordingly.

- Conduct regular compliance audits and risk assessments.

- Liaise with regulatory authorities and ensure timely submission of required filings and reports.

- Provide training and guidance to staff on compliance matters.

Portfolio Compliance and Investor Reporting


- Work with the Investment team in portfolio management


- Work with the Investment / program team on fund raising transaction documents with portfolio companies and closing

- Work with the Investment team (whether the Fund does or does not participate) on transaction documents when portfolio companies raise follow-on capital

Risk Management:

- Identify, assess, and mitigate financial and compliance risks.

- Implement robust internal controls and ensure their effectiveness.

- Develop and maintain a risk management framework for the fund.

- Monitor and report on key risk indicators and ensure timely action to address risks.

Team Leadership:

- Lead and mentor the finance and compliance team.

- Foster a culture of accountability, integrity, and continuous improvement.

- Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless operations and compliance.

Qualifications:

- Chartered Accountant (CA) or equivalent qualification.

- MBA in Finance or related field is preferred.

- Minimum of 10 years of experience in finance and compliance roles, preferably within the investment management industry.

- In-depth knowledge of SEBI and IFSCA regulations and other applicable laws.

- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

- Proven ability to lead and manage a team.
