A high growth Pharma API manufacturing company with a focus on regulated markets, is looking for an experienced Vice President to head its new greenfield plant in Vishakhapatnam.
This is a leadership role with significant hands-on management responsibilities. You will be responsible for efficiently running the plant, with all functional heads including quality reporting to you.
As a leader, you are expected to have the personality and skills required to motivate the team to deliver the highest quality and value in a timely manner.
As a manager, you are expected to be systems oriented, with the ability for continuous improvement. You will have to manage and optimize the OpEx of the plant on a day-to- day basis, while being responsible for and ensuring full compliance with cGMP standards and safety norms.
You will be a key member of the senior management team, reporting to the Chief Operating Officer (COO).
Required Skills:
It is mandatory to have experience in the pharmaceutical industry (API) with a good understanding of cGMP, safety and environmental requirements.
- Proven experience as a vice president or similar role, running a plant independently.

Skills/Competencies
- Having an adequate understanding of the cGMP guidelines of various markets.
- Deep understanding of chemical safety and process operations.
- A thorough understanding of preventive maintenance and engineering design.
- Understanding of government regulations and interaction with government officials.
Essential Functions:
1. Provide day-to-day leadership and management to the organization that mirrors the adopted mission and core values of the company.
2. Collaborate with the management team to develop and implement plans for the operational infrastructure of systems, processes, and personnel designed to achieve the rapid growth objectives of our organization.
3. Motivate and lead a high-performance team; attract, recruit and retain required members of the team not currently in place; provide mentoring as a cornerstone of the career development program.
4. Planning and organizing all resources to ensure the delivery of quality products in time with the optimum cost.
5. Compliance with Regulatory/Statutory and EHS&S requirements for the site.
6. Meeting the resource requirements of the various departments including manpower, equipment, and materials.
7. By imparting technical training and creating an environment conducive to a productive work environment, ensure that the workforce is motivated to do their best, and attrition is reduced.
8. Ensure cGMP implementation at the site (conduct meetings, Site Management Review, provide resources, etc.) as per the Quality policy.
9. Ensure safety, health and hygiene are sustained in the plant by monitoring and taking action on the audit reports.
10. Enhance productivity by providing the necessary resources, coordination, and guidance.
11. Implement new technologies efficiently (in terms of cost and quality) and in a timely manner to improve product offerings according to customer needs and site objectives.
12. Managing industrial relations and collaborating (with peers and external agencies) to accomplish business objectives.
13 Align plant-level functions and initiatives to enhance collaboration and integration.
14 Responsible for managing the OpEx budget.
15. Prepare monthly reports for Management Review Meetings (MRM). Review plant status every week and report to the COO. Prepare weekly reports for Management Review Meetings (MRM).
DEPARTMENT-SPECIFIC/ONGOING FUNCTIONS:
- Coordinate with all departments to ensure that the site delivers on Quality, Quantity, Cost, and Safety.
- Control site expenses to stay within the budget.
- Keeping the site (infrastructure, equipment, and housekeeping) in excellent condition.
- Ensure that EHS&S and training objectives are met across the site.
- Create a work environment that promotes safety, training, and development of employees.
Candidate Profile:
Education : B.E. / B.Tech (Chemical engineering)/ M.Tech (Chem. Engg.)
Experience : 20 - 25 years of experience with at least five years as Plant Head.
