- As part of the Global Markets Operations strategic model, a Centre of Excellence (CoE) for Operations processing in the Global Service Centre in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and Manila, Philippines. The CoE supports multiple products and legal entities, providing utility type processes whilst their partners in the onshore hubs concentrate on functions which require proximity to business or clients, or which are deemed too complex to be migrated.

- The CoE is organised in product teams which mirror the structure of the Global Markets Operations management team: Securities, Derivatives, FX/MM and Cross Product Services. In addition there are other support functions including People Development and Business Risk Control

- Ensure the smooth running of the Equity & Rates Derivative Operations teams in KL, making sure an appropriate structure exists below the management level and that succession planning is in place

- Maintain high standards of control and minimal operational loss incidents

- Work with cross functional global product heads in GBM Operations to plan and execute future migrations, based on agreed end-state operating model

- Develop new ideas and strategic plans for how KL can bring greater value to the global operations function

- Work with functional global product heads to ensure benefits from migrations are realised through cost benefits while maintaining / improving service levels

- Ensure consistent procedures are being followed for migrations from all locations and build capability in KL to receive and manage functions

- Continue to improve processes once migrated, and realise efficiency savings. Conduct root cause analysis on repetitive process exceptions and implement fixes

- Establish appropriate metrics to monitor controls, productivity and service levels

- Recruit and train local staff as required

- Establish materials, training programmes etc to ensure specialist product and process knowledge can be retained and handed on appropriately to new staff

- Work with IT to implement both strategic and tactical change programmes
