We are seeking a highly technical and strategic leader for a high-performing engineering team. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of successfully managing and delivering complex products, a deep understanding of modern technologies, and the ability to drive innovation within a fast-paced environment. You will be responsible for leading and managing a large engineering division of over 100 employees (and growing) to build scalable, reliable, and high-quality software products. Reporting to the CTO, you will closely work with the Chief Architect, Engineering Managers, Product Managers, and other stakeholders to strategize and execute the roadmaps for multiple products.

The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background (including being a tech polyglot), exceptional leadership skills, and a proven track record of delivering complex AI-driven SaaS products within a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

Leadership: Provide visionary leadership and mentorship to the engineering team, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and excellence

Product Development: Oversee the end-to-end product development process, ensuring timely and high-quality delivery of products that align with business goals

Technical Strategy: Develop and execute the technical strategy, guiding the team in adopting the latest technologies and best practices

Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with other departments such as product management, marketing, and operations to ensure alignment and successful product launches

Talent Management: Attract, mentor, and retain top engineering talent. Foster a positive and growth-oriented work environment

Capacity Management: Manage the engineering capacity effectively, optimizing resources for maximum productivity and efficiency

Quality Assurance: Implement and oversee robust quality assurance processes to maintain the highest product standards

Risk Management: Identify and mitigate risks associated with product development, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget

Continuous Improvement: Implement and promote best practices in software development and engineering processes. Drive a culture of continuous learning and improvement within the engineering team

Requirement:

- Proven experience of at least 15 years in software engineering, growing from strength to strength into a demonstrated leadership role. Should have managed large engineering teams of at least 80-100 resources

- At least 8-10 years at a product firm, with front line exposure to the evolution of technology from on-premises to Cloud. Preference will be given to candidates with experience in building enterprise software, e.g., CRM, ERP, HCM or Supply Chain

- Advanced levels of skills in software development, including proficiency in one or more of the major programming languages (C++, C#/.Net, Java, Python, Rust) and strong experience in AWS, Azure, or GCP

- Demonstrated success in managing and leading high-performing engineering teams, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement

- Experience with agile methodologies, DevOps practices, and software development best practices, including CI/CD pipelines and automated testing frameworks

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams, articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders, and inspire a shared vision for product development

- Proven track record of delivering complex SaaS products on time and within budget, with a strong focus on scalability, reliability, and user experience.
