Role Overview:
- As Business Head, you will take the lead in steering the strategic direction of the company with a focus on growth in the USA and globalmarket expansion. You will leverage your extensive background in businessdevelopment, marketing, manufacturing, and clientrelationship management within the nutraceuticals and botanicalextraction sectors. This position demands an experienced leader with proven expertise in new product development (NPD), herb sourcing, qualitymanagement, and sustainable manufacturing practices.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Growth & Market Expansion:
- Develop and execute long-term strategies to accelerate growth and market penetration in the USA, alongside global expansion efforts in Europe, Australia, Japan, South Korea, and Taiwan.
- Utilize deep insights into market dynamics, regulatory challenges, and customer needs to position Manipal
- Naturals as a key player in the nutraceutical and herbal extract markets.
- Lead expansion initiatives for product lines such as food and feed supplements, herbal ingredients, and organic products, ensuring successful market entry and sustained growth. Business Development & Relationship
- Management: Spearhead B2B sales efforts, focusing on the development and nurturing of strategic client relationships, especially in the USA and other key global regions.
- Build long-term partnerships with suppliers, distributors, and manufacturers, enhancing product offerings and driving revenue growth.
- Manage existing client relationships, ensuring exceptional service, satisfaction, and retention while
identifying new opportunities for collaboration and expansion.
- Product Innovation & New Product Development (NPD): - Lead the New Product Development process, driving the creation of innovative, high-quality products such as nutraceuticals, functional ingredients, and herbal extracts tailored to market demands.
- Apply technical expertise in extraction techniques, phytochemical isolation, and sustainable manufacturing to ensure products meet both scientific andregulatory standards, especially for the USA market (FDA, GMP).
- Champion innovation by overseeing the development of green manufacturing practices, optimizing the production of herbal ingredients, and ensuring a sustainable product lifecycle.
- Operational Excellence & Manufacturing Oversight:
- Oversee manufacturing operations, ensuring all products are produced efficiently, sustainably, and in compliance with the highest quality standards and regulatory requirements.
- Ensure the implementation of quality management systems (QMS), conducting regular risk assessments to identify potential areas for improvement and mitigate risks.
- Leverage your expertise in plant designing, commissioning, and quality assurance to drive operational efficiency and cost-effective production.
- Client Relationship & Sales Leadership:
- Foster strong relationships with key stakeholders and clients in the USA and global markets, with a focus on expanding Manipal Naturals' market share and brand presence.
- Deliver exceptional customer satisfaction by tailoring products and solutions to meet the unique needs of clients in diverse regulatory environments.
- Drive client engagement through regular touchpoints, ensuring their requirements are met and proactively addressing any concerns or challenges
- Financial Leadership & Budget
Management:
- Lead the financial planning process, managing budgets, forecasts, and profit margins while ensuring alignment with business goals and growth strategies.
- Monitor performance metrics (KPIs), ensuring consistent progress towards revenue, market share,
and client satisfaction goals. Scientific & Regulatory Oversight:
- Lead efforts to ensure compliance with all relevant global regulations (FDA, GMP, USDA, EU) across product lines.
- Collaborate with the scientific and regulatory teams to ensure that products are developed in line with the latest scientific research, safety standards, and market trends.
Desired Qualifications:
- Education: A degree in Science (preferably Botany, Herbal Science, or a related field). An advanced degree (M.Sc./Ph.D.) would be highly regarded.
- Experience: 20+ years of experience in the nutraceuticals, herbal extraction, and botanical industries, with a proven track record in strategic market development and global expansion.
- Hands-on experience in managing B2B sales, product innovation, and client relationship management, particularly in USA and other regulated markets.
- Strong expertise in new product development (NPD), phytochemical extraction, quality assurance, manufacturing, and sustainability in herbal/nutraceutical products.
- Previous leadership experience in roles such as Sales/Marketing Director or Executive Director in the nutraceutical or herbal extraction industries.
Skills:
- Strong strategic and financial acumen, with the ability to lead complex projects, manage budgets, and achieve growth targets.
- Leadership skills, with the ability to guide, mentor, and inspire diverse teams across multiple functions (sales, marketing, operations, R&D).
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to foster relationships and drive sales growth.
Location: Bangalore,
- India, with frequent international travel, particularly to the USA and other global markets.
- Languages Known: English (written and spoken), Kannada, Hindi. Additional Languages: Basic understanding of Korean, Japanese, and Spanish (knowledge of these languages is an added advantage
