 Description - Opportunity to lead the Bioinformatics team with a leading genomics company based out of Bangalore

Client Details : 

Our client is a leading genomics company with offices in India and US. It drives research solutions for global biotech and pharma customers in key disease areas such as oncology, ophthalmology, metabolic diseases, neurology and rare diseases. They are currently hiring for VP-Bioinformatics who can lead their Bioinformatics team based out of Bangalore.

Description : 

As VP-Bioinformatics based out of Bangalore, you will:

- Manage and grow bioinformatics team, ensure efficiency and productivity in production as well as developing new pipelines

- Ensure compliance to appropriate internal and external standards and policies.

- Develop software and bioinformatics applications integrating the Organisation's solutions

- Drive efficiency and establish governance to facilitate cross functional collaboration between the teams

- Ensure effective execution of work plans resulting in relevant, reliable and timely delivery for stakeholders

- Prioritize and balance functional strategic objectives; build and allocate resources to accomplish the team goals

- Directly responsible for every facet of the computational and bioinformatics infrastructure.

- Establish and maintain governance process to ensure alignment of bioinformatics, computational and software solutions with strategic organizational goals

- Organize and participate in scientific meetings and conferences and represent company in technical matters of high significance

- Represent the team on key leadership meetings to promote the work and accomplishments of the team

- Drive efficiency and establish governance to facilitate cross functional collaboration between the teams

Profile : 

As a successful candidate for VP-Bioinformatics, you should have:

- PhD in computation biology/genomics/bioinformatics

- At least 10-15 years of work experience in programming with specific reference to Medical Genomics

- Hands on programming knowledge and good troubleshoot capabilities

- Effective working relationships with the team to enable them to deliver work effectively

- Leadership and coaching skills regarding organization strategy, tactics and teamwork in order to deliver on organizational goals

- Excellent communication, written and presentation skills

- Good publishing track record
