About the role

For the AVP, Business Partnerships role, we are seeking an individual who is a tenacious hustler, adept problem solver, and excellent relationship manager, an individual who has made business partnerships a cornerstone of his/her professional journey

Responsibilities

Fuel customer acquisition primarily for our financing and payments products by deepening existing partnerships and establishing new ones with:

- eCommerce marketplaces such as Flipkart etc.

- Payment gateways/payment aggregators (PA/PG) such as Razorpay etc.

- Logistics companies/aggregators such as Shiprocket etc.

- Online store enablers/order management/ERP solution providers such as Unicommerce, OMS Guru, Explorex etc.

- Other eCommerce/B2B SaaS enablers such as Meta, VC investors, Investment Bankers, communities etc.

- Accounting softwares such as Vyapaar etc.

- Drive partnerships for enabling collection of Velocity loan dues from customer's money flow via a partner such as marketplace/PA/PG

Typical activities done by you and your team to drive above include:

- Competition products & process mapping - Become familiar with the competition to stay ahead of them.

- Monthly target setting with partners to deliver top of the funnel

- Working with growth team to ensure funnel conversions and seeking help from partners wherever required

- Joint problem solving with the partners to increase funnel output and to make the partnership successful and rewarding for both the parties

- Work with credit and product teams to tailor existing products and create new ones to cater to diverse customer base across partners

- Oversee monthly billing to partners and work towards improving the economics

- Identify and establish right level connects with potential partners and lead discussions to closure including alignment on agreement terms and fee arrangements

- Keep Velocity and partner leadership abreast of the performance and initiatives

- Work as the interface between our collection partners and the Velocity collection and tech/ product teams to ensure smooth business operations

First few problem statements:

How will you identify right stakeholder in a potential partner company and establish a connect with him/her

How will you improve top of the funnel, conversion at the mid/ end of the funnel

How will you convince a partner to revise referral fee to improve the economics of a partnership

How will you approach partnerships in a new sector that Velocity wants to focus on

Reporting manager: CEO

Location: Our HQ in HSR Layout, Bengaluru

Process

3 interviews: This also gives you an opportunity to get to know the core team better

Total duration: We'll try and fit in our entire process in less than two weeks

Interview content: The discussions test functional expertise, ownership levels, problem solving, communication, relationship management, negotiation, and leadership skills. Sometimes we ask open ended hypothetical questions, other times we just talk about your approach to solving problems.

Qualifications

- Must have a minimum of 5 years of Partnership management experience preferably in financial services/fintech

- Must have prior experience in managing teams

- Ability to engage and manage partners (CXO levels)

- Advance degree such as MBA is preferred
