The Cluster Lead for Supply Chain Operations is responsible for overseeing and optimizing the end-to-end supply chain activities within a designated cluster. This role involves leading a team to ensure efficient operations, inventory management, distribution, planning and hiring team. The Cluster Lead will collaborate with various departments to streamline operations, reduce costs, and enhance customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Planning:
- Develop and implement supply chain strategies aligned with organizational goals.
- Analyze market trends, demand patterns, and business requirements to anticipate supply chain needs.
- Identify opportunities for improvement and efficiency enhancement in supply chain operations.
Team Leadership:
- Lead and manage a team of supply chain professionals, including planners, buyers, logistics coordinators, and warehouse staff.
- Provide guidance, coaching, and support to team members to achieve departmental objectives.
- Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement within the supply chain team.
Inventory Management:
- Develop inventory management strategies to balance stock levels with demand forecasts and production schedules.
- Implement inventory optimization techniques to minimize excess inventory and stockouts.
- Utilize inventory management systems to track inventory levels, monitor stock movements, and identify opportunities for improvement.
Warehouse/ Facility Planning:
- Collaborate with production teams to develop production schedules that meet customer demand while maximizing resource utilization.
- Monitor facility progress and address any issues or constraints that may impact supply chain efficiency.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth execution of production plans and schedules.
Distribution and Logistics:
- Optimize distribution networks and transportation routes to minimize lead times and transportation costs.
Performance Monitoring and Reporting:
- Develop key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness and efficiency of supply chain operations.
- Monitor KPIs regularly and implement corrective actions as needed to achieve performance targets.
- Prepare and present regular reports on supply chain performance, highlighting achievements, challenges, and opportunities for improvement.
Cost Optimization:
- Identify opportunities for cost reduction across the supply chain, including procurement, production, inventory management, and logistics.
- Analyze cost drivers and inefficiencies within current processes and systems.
- Develop and implement strategies to streamline operations, eliminate waste, and optimize resource utilization to reduce overall costs.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
- Proven experience 7+ years in supply chain management, with a focus on operation execution, warehouse/facility planning, inventory management, and logistics.
- Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire team members to achieve common goals.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a data-driven approach to decision-making.
- Advanced knowledge of supply chain principles, practices, and technologies.
- Proficiency in using supply chain management software and tools (e.g., ERP systems, inventory management software, etc.).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and external partners.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Certification in supply chain management (e.g., APICS CPIM, CSCP) is a plus.
Additional Information:
- This position will require travel to visit facilities or distribution centers within the designated cluster.
