Role: Category Lead

Location: Bengaluru (Onsite)

Position Overview: We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced professional to join our young & vibrant team as a Category Lead. As a Category Lead, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing a specific product category or group of related products, ensuring their success within the B2B market segment. Your primary focus will be to drive growth, optimize profitability, and strengthen customer relationships within your assigned category.

Key Responsibilities:

Category Strategy: Develop and execute a comprehensive category strategy aligned with the company's overall objectives. Identify market trends, customer needs, and competitive landscape to drive category growth and profitability. -

Product Selection and Assortment: Analyze market demands, conduct research, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to curate a compelling product assortment that caters to the specific needs and preferences of customers. Manage the entire product lifecycle from selection to discontinuation. -

Vendor Management: Build and nurture strong relationships with vendors and suppliers, negotiating favorable terms, pricing, and contractual agreements. Continuously evaluate and onboard new suppliers to expand the category offerings and maintain competitive advantage. -

Pricing and Margin Optimization: Monitor market dynamics, competitive pricing, and profit margins within the category. Implement pricing strategies and promotional activities to maximize revenue and profitability, while ensuring value for customers. -

Sales Performance and Growth: Collaborate with sales and marketing teams to develop targeted campaigns and sales initiatives that drive category growth. Analyze sales data, track performance metrics, and identify opportunities for improvement. Customer Relationship Management: Work closely with key customers, understanding their unique requirements and pain points. Collaborate with the sales team to ensure customer satisfaction, address concerns, and proactively identify new business opportunities within the category. -

Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with various internal stakeholders, including marketing, operations, finance, and supply chain, to ensure effective category management. Provide input and insights to cross-functional teams regarding product positioning, market trends, and customer feedback. -

Market and Competitive Analysis: Stay updated on industry trends, market dynamics, and competitive landscape within the B2B sector. Conduct regular analysis and provide recommendations to stay ahead of market changes and emerging opportunities.

What We're Looking For:

- MBA/Graduates from Tier 1 institutions with proven experience in category/P&L management roles

- Strong understanding of market dynamics, customer needs, and industry trends, Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret data, identify insights, and make data-driven decisions

- Demonstrated ability to develop and execute successful category strategies

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders

- Proactive and results-oriented mindset with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment


- Exceptional negotiation and vendor management skills
