Designation: Head of Business Planning, Operations & innovation
Location: Bangalore
Head of Business Planning, Operations & Innovation, is aimed to provide Management & Operational support to achieve Growth objectives of the Organization. It covers a wide range of monitoring, facilitation & Innovation capabilities of Strategic & tactical nature, doing groundwork in identifying, experimenting on and scaling levers of efficient growth. Implementing change programs & running the business of the BU as well as being the conduit between all the functions within and outside the BU.
Examples of the work includes (but is not limited to) -
- Planning the year, quarter, month and week for the business in alignment with all stakeholders (marketing, Category General managers, Head of sales, product etc)
- Enabling the Business teams by interfacing with all departments to ensure that they achieve the required growth like HR & Hiring, training, Product, marketing, academics etc.
- Auditing the business practices on the ground to ensure that the defined standards are upheld
- Set-up the right quality standards for the business teams to uphold
- Innovate on the every aspect of the business from operations to growth to processes & tools
Key Responsibilities Areas & Job Description
- Business Planning and Operations :
- Ownership of Business planning, resource planning and management, budget planning, revenue accounting etc
- Define, develop and implement business planning processes.
- Understand business direction and needs, and develop solutions, roadmaps and assessment of potential business impacts
- Identify business problems and solutions of the same for improvements.
- Develop and implement best practices and learning plans from the relevant outside environments to meet business objectives.
- Develop and implement standard procedures to manage and maintain business operational and financial objectives.
- Determine and execute key business initiatives that will drive business operations.
- Coordinate and manage cross-functional teams to improve business planning and show predictable growth.
Leadership & Management :
- Provide input on strategy, direction, focus and prioritization in the growth of the BU
- Stimulate an environment where forward planning, prioritization, deadline management and streamlined workflows and collaborative, inclusive yet effective and efficient work practices are the norm
- Act as a catalyst for team engagement, motivation and a spirit of openness of trust where every individual's opinion is important
- Strategic Support :
- Planning, monitoring & Coordinating strategic program
- Identify areas and forum and prepare for effective participation
- Coordinate multi Unit projects & enhancements
- Maintain in-depth knowledge of market dynamics such as competitor analysis, market share, demographic trends, and growth projections.
- Innovation & Change Initiatives :
- Conceptualise and execute experiments to solve for various business problems and identify scalable areas of growth
- Conceptualize the framework - plan and reliably execute change initiatives as an outcome of the above to drive key objectives through identified stakeholders
- Be responsible for driving and coordinating ad hoc projects and deliverables as they relate to the people agenda.
- Communication & Reporting :
- Ensure right visibility & positioning of team within the larger organisation
- Review & refine presentation /Exec summaries before review by BU Management
- Ensure regular/relevant reporting from BU
Other Responsibilities :
Be the custodian of a highly ethical and empathetic business culture and drive it inside the BU
Share knowledge and best practices for the overall growth and development of the BU.
Reporting:
Business Head (of the Corresponding Business Unit of Vedantu)
Working closely with :
- Head of Sales (of the Corresponding BU of Vedantu)
- General Managers of the various categories in the BU
- Marketing and Branding teams
- Business excellence team
- TA & Training Team
Skills & Experience :
1.Excellent Academic Pedigree (MBA from premier colleges preferred) with Rich experience in driving disproportionate growth in business
2. 5+ Years of experience in driving business growth
3. Very strong leadership skills, particularly collaborative approach and nurturing strong relationship across the organisation
4.Excellent stakeholder management skills; comfort with dealing at top team level internally and externally and ability to challenge where deemed necessary
5.Ability and comfort in taking full ownership of the reliable planning and effective enabling of the growth engine of the business
6.hold his/her own in challenging all stakeholders using logic & rationale
7.High speed growth outlook and very high cultural sensitivity
8.Excellent written and verbal communication skills and presentation skills
9.Strong program management, operational and execution skills
10.Ability to think on his/her feet
Preferred Candidate -
1.Engineering and MBA from premier institute
2.Would have worked on solving business problems for 5+ years in various roles across industries
3.Would have had a people management role experience of 2+ years
4.Would have held a pivotal role in the growth of 1+ early stage start-up
5.Would have high ethical and moral standards of running the business
6.Would be passionately driven to create sustainable impact
