Position : Senior Manager - Climate Finance

Job Description :

We are looking for a Senior Manager - Climate Finance who will be working closely with our senior leadership team to market, finance and sell Varaha's carbon credit portfolio to global carbon market participants. . In this role, you will be supporting the Head - Climate Finance in end-to-end management of our carbon investor and buyer pipeline, from lead identification to transaction closing. We are looking for a candidate who is passionate about and has experience in carbon markets and carbon project development, while looking to grow dynamically in a startup environment.

Duties and Responsibilities :

As a member of the Climate Finance team, the Senior Manager - Carbon Finance will focus on the technical support aspects of the Climate Finance and Business Development team as follows:

1. Assist in creating relevant collateral and materials to market specific projects within the portfolio

2. Manage, document and meticulously organize a large pipeline of ongoing

3. Conversations with investors and buyers, ensuring up-to-date information, meeting minutes and next steps are collated for every lead

4. Provide back-office support in transaction due diligence by answering investor queries and preparing relevant data rooms

5. Prepare detailed financial models, cash flow models and IRR estimations for a wide range of nature-based carbon projects

6. Prepare detailed technical responses relevant investors and buyers, liasoning with the Project Development teams

7. Managing sales tools and infrastructure such as the CRM

8. Stay up-to-date with the carbon finance landscape to guide sales strategy and development

Required Skills and Experience:

Education: Master's Degree in a relevant field, such as Environmental Sciences, Agricultural Sciences or Finance strongly preferred.

Experience:

1. At least 5 years of experience in a generalist finance and/or environmental consulting role with strong preference for candidates with prior experience in carbon markets or carbon project development.

2. Knowledge and familiarity with environmental markets, especially voluntary carbon markets.

3. Strong preference for candidates with familiarity in nature-based removal methodologies and standards such as Regenerative Agriculture and Biochar

4. Ability to efficiently create financial models, cash flow models and IRR estimations for a wide portfolio of carbon projects

5. Strong written communication skills, plus the ability to translate complex technical and scientific concepts into succinct materials

6. Strong attention to detail

7. Strong bias towards action and autonomy to generate new leads

8. Knowledge and familiarity with agricultural sciences a strong plus

9. Language requirements: Fluency in English is required.
