Company Introduction :

- Varaha is an end-to-end carbon project developer focused on nature based solutions such as regenerative agriculture, agroforestry, mangrove and biochar projects that support smallholder land stewards at scale. In our second year of operation we are removing and avoiding more than 1 Million tons of CO2 and distributing the majority of the revenues to more than 100,000 smallholder land stewards in South Asia and Sub-Saharan Africa.

Positon : Lead Operations - South India

Job Description:

Varaha is seeking a seasoned professional for the role of Lead Operations - South India. In this key position, you will be instrumental in shaping and executing operational strategies to drive the success of Nature-Based Solutions (NBS) projects. The primary focus will be on effective team management, strategic planning, and ensuring the seamless execution of initiatives aligned with Varaha's overarching goals.

Roles and Responsibilities : -

- Develop and implement operational strategies aligned with organisational goals.

- Lead recruitment and selection for field staff.

- Develop comprehensive training programs for team skill development.

- Oversee all ground activities related to NBS projects in South India.

- Ensure effective implementation, timeline adherence, and project objective achievement.

- Manage day-to-day operations and address challenges promptly.

- Implement operational improvements for efficiency and resource optimization.

- Collaborate with senior management to align regional operations with the overall organisational strategy.

- Provide regular updates on South India operations.

- Act as a central point of coordination between field staff, senior management, and stakeholders.

- Provide timely assistance and support for smooth project execution.

- Generate regular, comprehensive reports on South India team activities.

- Analyse data and provide insights for decision-making and strategic planning.

- Proactively identify and address challenges faced by the ground team.

- Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot issues and implement effective solutions.

Requirements:

- 4-5 years of experience in operations and project management.

- Proven track record in farmer engagement and NBS projects, preferably ARR.

- Strong team management and leadership skills.

- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.

- Experience in data collection, database management, and research.

- Master''s degree in Agriculture or related field (Master's degree is a plus).

- Willingness to work in the field and travel as needed.
