Positon : Lead - New Plantations

Job Description:

- Varaha ClimateAg is seeking a dynamic and experienced professional for the role of Lead - New Plantations.

- This individual will lead the establishment and management of new plantation projects, contributing to Varaha's commitment to sustainable and impactful carbon projects. The Lead - New Plantations will be responsible for overseeing the entire lifecycle of new plantation initiatives, from planning and implementation to monitoring and reporting, with a major focus on operational execution.

Roles and Responsibilities :

- Lead the planning and execution of new plantation projects, ensuring alignment with sustainability goals and carbon offset objectives.

- Travel to various project locations to lead the plantation projects.

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define project scopes, timelines, and resource requirements.

- Engage with external stakeholders such as farmers, implementation partners, and local communities to foster positive relationships and garner support for plantation projects.

- Identify suitable locations for new plantations, considering environmental factors and project goals. Oversee the preparation of plantation sites, including soil analysis and any necessary infrastructure development.

- Work closely with experts to select appropriate plant species for carbon sequestration and environmental benefits.

- Implement effective plantation management practices to optimize carbon capture and overall ecosystem health.

- Ensure compliance with environmental regulations, land-use policies, and industry standards.

- Establish robust monitoring mechanisms to track the growth and health of plantations.

- Prepare comprehensive reports on the progress, challenges, and outcomes of new plantation initiatives.

Qualifications :

- Bachelor's and Master's degree in Agricultural Sciences, Environmental Sciences, or related field.

- Proven experience in managing and implementing plantation projects across various geographies.

- Strong project management skills, including planning, execution, and monitoring.

- Knowledge of environmental regulations and sustainable land-use practices.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

- Willingness and ability to travel extensively.
