Assistant Manager - Strategy for ECDI
Background:
ECDI (Emerging Channels and Digital Initiatives) is a dedicated business vertical within V-Guard which takes care of alternate channels encompassing ecommerce (B2C, B2B, B2G, Brand.com & B2T), Modern Trade (National & Regional chain accounts) and O2O channel. We are looking for dynamic people to join ECDI team with proven track record who will help accelerate the pace of our journey in alternate channels and help drive digitisation agenda across functions such as sales, marketing, service, SCM, analytics, etc to make the organisation future ready.
Job Description:
- Facilitate annual business planning exercise for each channel post analysing the channel, account, category & segment potential, product portfolio alignment, pricing etc.
- Identify, design, document and steer initiatives for capability building for Y+3 across each channel, business function and category.
- Work with management consultants to analyse problem statement, define project framework and detailing the initiatives. Manage projects by leading cross functional teams (internal and external), ensuring execution, keeping track of deadlines, analysing the progress, and taking corrective actions.
- Timely prepare high-level reports to update Top Management on the business performance and progress of the strategic projects.
- Identify areas of innovation in existing channels and categories. Collaborate with start-ups/new age companies and explore opportunities to partner with them for improving/streamlining business growth, customer value proposition, insights generation, analytics, customer engagement, financial processes etc.
- Work on digitisation of existing processes and services. Expand digital across customer value chain to make organisation digital centric.
- Co-work with the internal and external stakeholders to identify & implement initiatives for efficiency maximisation across channel, category, and business functions.
- Keep track of P&L across channels and suggest timely actions to ensure the agreed P&L health. Inform key stakeholders on performance metrics & provide insights and suggestions to improve business performance.
- Devise strategy to enter and increase penetration across emerging channels. Assess channel, category, competition, key accounts, etc and set directions for each crucial area such as channel Strategy, Key Accounts Strategy, GTM, Category Strategy, Product Portfolio Mix, New Product Development, Marketing investments, Pricing & Margins, Consumer value propositions, etc.
- Design and support implementation of business plan for introduction of new categories.
Education Qualification:
- MBA from Tier-1 B-school
Professional experience:
- Overall 3-5 years (Up to 2 years post MBA and 2-3 years prior MBA)
- Prior experience in management consulting, strategy or ecommerce role preferred.

- Superior analytical and problem-solving skills, with demonstrated intellectual and analytical rigor, attention to detail and ability to carry out sophisticated financial modelling
- Advanced proficiency in excel and PowerPoint
- Ability to synthesize data into meaningful conclusions and recommendations
- Broad financial acumen with strong finance accounting principles
- Strong work ethic, ability to proactively manage multiple high priority projects and work effectively in team
- Temperament to work in cross-functional teams and ability to interact and co-ordinate with other businesses, teams, and individuals for execution
- Result oriented and timekeeper - Should be able to deliver results within definite timeframe.
