About the Role: We are seeking an experienced Co-founder to build, innovate, grow the brand and manage the day-to-day operations of the firm. The right candidate will be ready to build and model a great company culture, provide inspired strategic, financial and operational leadership to our executive team, establish a great working relationship with the board of directors/investors, and set a course for company's short, medium and long term strategy. S/he will supervise and control all strategic and business aspects of the organisation, and will be responsible for giving the proper strategic direction as well as creating a vision for success for the brand. To thrive as a business head you must be a prudent manager and an inspiring leader. The ideal candidate will have a business mindset and will be able to see the - big picture- in a variety of settings. S/he will take actions to enhance the company's revenue and cash flow while keeping the human factor in perspective. S/he will lead our company's business plan, client outreach and sales efforts, with a focus on large accounts. S/he will also work closely with the executive management team on advancing go-to-market strategy, major customer and partner initiatives and overall company strategy. Key Responsibilities: 1. Develop and implement high quality go-to-market strategies, business model and business plans along with the co-founders, ensuring their alignment with short-term and long-term objectives 2. Establish an entire business right from early stage: set-up and oversee all day-to-day operations and business activities to ensure they produce the desired results and are consistent with the overall strategy and mission 3. Plan, develop, implement and direct the organization's operational and fiscal function and performance; plan for continual improvements and a continual increase of operating efficiencies. 4. Forge alliances and partnerships with other organizations, cutting across enterprise clients, OEM partners for training solutions/technologies and trainers/content providers. 5. Guide the Marketing team on design, marketing, and promotion of programs. 6. Represent the company in conferences, community events, industry training events, etc 7. Act as the primary spokesperson for the company, while developing the company's culture and overall company vision and creating an environment that promotes great performance and positive morale. 8. Work closely with the executive management team to develop effective hiring, training, and compensation plans to retain quality talent 9. Build and oversee a finance &amp; accounts team by providing accurate analysis of budgets, reports and making necessary adjustments to ensure performance meets forecasts, besides business compliances. 10. Evaluate strategic investment opportunities &amp; potential M&amp;A to help unlock value for the company. Qualifications/ Requirements: 1. Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Master's degree in a relevant discipline or MBA - Degrees from IIT/IIM background would be an added advantage. 2. At least 6-10 years of education/ learning management industry experience of which minimum 2-3 years in the top management level, with some experience in building and/or scaling an Ed-tech organization (as a founder or in a top management capacity); experience with skill development or learning content start-ups an added advantage. 3. Knowledge of profit and loss, balance sheet and cash flow management, and general finance and budgeting, besides ability to build and implement business strategies. 4. Should be a quick learner and even quicker problem solver - be quick to analyse problematic situations and occurrences and provide solutions to ensure company survival and growth 5. Must have an entrepreneurial bent of mind capable of operating in high stress environments; ability to operate with small and large teams alike. 6. Excellent communication with strong interpersonal skills - should be an inspiring, motivated and convincing personality capable of creating trust among clients, executives, partners, and workforce. 7. Strong leadership skills, excellent negotiation skills, high integrity and a deep sense of ownership and accountability. 8. Strong process-driven approach sought to build processes for all new divisions of the business: technology, content creation, content sourcing, monetisation, trainer training, sales, marketing, operations, business development and more. 9. Revenue creation experience with a demonstrated track record of success in business development, marketing and sales management. 10. While not required, candidates with experience in the areas listed below will be viewed favorably: - Experience doing business with Electrical, Mechanical or Industrial verticals, including OEMs, Service contractors, Unions, Large Construction - Experience selling Edtech products into enterprises - SaaS sales experience 11. Exceptional references a must What will your success look like a year from now? - You will have built a great early brand with a lot of promise, and an exceptional business team that is firing on all cylinders driving impressive revenue numbers, having found the sweet spot for SMB and Enterprise sales opportunities, besides an early foray into B2C space. - You have proven to be a strong leader by bringing onboard an array of enviable edtech investors through at least one round of funding, expanding the platform and technology vision, and building strategic business plans that include identifying emerging markets which has allowed your team to surpass revenue goals. - You- ve developed a deep sales pipeline, revenue and profit visibility, blue-chip enterprise partnerships because of the massive opportunities you- ve identified in the marketplace - all while keeping the CAC and churn minimal. - You have built a reputation of being an excellent and thoughtful communicator who is in this to help the client and live up to the expectations of your investors. - Your unique ability to understand client needs and translate that into a solution oriented pitch has allowed you to not only win business but also develop Upskyyl advocates among our customers and partners.
