Job Description - Job Responsibilities:

- Good communication skills to handle customers with best practices to improve and maintenance of the databases at the infrastructure level to meet our organization goals.

- Able to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.

- Be point of contact and first point of contact for escalations to SQL server team to manage large SQL server environment .

- Be a position to automate the environment with regular tasks. Motivate the team and identify their needs in both technical and professional manner.

- Positions in this function design, implement and maintain all functions of database systems, including access, methods and time, device allocations, validation checks, organization, security, documentation, and statistical methodology.

- Monitors overall standards and procedures, assists in integrating various systems.

- Consults with users, determine requirements and recommends database establishment and utilization.

- Generally work is self-directed and not prescribed.

- Works with less structured, more complex issues.

- Serves as a resource to others.

Qualification - Skill Criteria:

- 10 years of IT experience.

- 8 + years of experience in MS SQL Server 2000, 2005, 2008, 2008 R2, 2012, Azure.

- Should be SME in SQL Server Database engine

- Good knowledge of SQL server High availability, DB mirroring, Cluster, T-SQL, Automate the environment through PowerShell

- Knowledge of HP Performance Monitoring system, Foglight, SQL DMVs for performance

- Performance Tuning, Various Database Issues Troubleshooting, Security, Configuration, Setup and Installation

- Advance level of understanding of Infrastructure design and capacity planning knowledge

- Excellent knowledge of MS SQL Server Architecture.

- Should be responsible to contact application owners and do the security auditing for the legacy servers for the Databases usages and connections

- Must have a knowledge for Databases migration/Up gradation including SQL server 2000 to higher versions like 2012

- Must have experience on Disaster recovery solutions

- Understanding of, and experience with, server-client computing and relational database environments

- Experience working on SQL server backup estore & security

- Well knowledge on all SQL server version starting from 2000 to 2012

- Must have well problem-solving techniques and ability to present ideas to clients

- Experience working on SQL server performance techniques and tools

- Must have knowledge on SQL server new features including SQL 2012 Always-On and DMVs

- Responsible for implementation and release of database changes according to agreed timescales.

- Self-motivated and directed, with keen attention to detail

- Responsible for creating database objects and modelling according project requirements.

- Should have knowledge in backup and recovery concepts and logging.

- PowerShell scripting knowledge would be benefited.

- Responsible for Database object level changes

- Monitoring HADR environment and troubleshooting HADR issues
