At UnitedHealth Group, Employee Relations is a CoE function that provides support to every UHG business in a specific region. The Employee Relations work stream that the incumbent is part of is referred to, as the International Shared Services team that serves the Asia Pacific region.
The keys functions of ER, while keeping in the business and statutory requirements of the region are;Effective Case Management, Ensuring Legislative Compliance &,To create and develop a strong Governance framework that drives continuous process improvement.
Through positive employee relations policies, practices, and programs, ER focuses on developing scalable and innovative ER solutions, driving employee and manager accountability, and providing a workplace that is free from all forms of discrimination.
Position Overview :
As an ER Case Analyst, this position is responsible for Investigations & Case management with respect to delivering Operational Efficiency & Effectiveness in this area of functioning.
Job Responsibilities :
- Case Management based on tenets of Employee Advocacy & fairness.
- Conduct investigations related to Disciplinary & Capability issues based of principles of natural justice.
- Readdress formally raised employee grievances & harassment cases in line with internal policy guidelines based on law of the land.
- Ensure all investigations are completed in time and outcome/ sanctions are effectively communicated to all stakeholders within the defined timelines/ SLAs.
- Effective use of CRM tool for trend analysis that proactively identifies probable issues/ themes, those may emerge in the immediate, intermediate or long term time horizons.
- Provide training & coaching for business on ER issues.
- Responsible to support varied projects within the ER Transformation, Governance & Continuous Process Improvement Agenda, as per APAC ER Strategy roadmap.
- Provide processing support for Downsizings, Mutual Agreements, Severance processing & escalated Background Check reports
- Support M & A & legal entity set-up within the geography the case analyst operates in.
- Engage and present to the ER Leadership work streams Teams/ Steering Committees on status of varied project/s specific to the geography responsible for.
Supervisory Responsibilities :
- The incumbent in an Individual Contributor role will follow a replicable & a scalable delivery model to ensure effective handling of case volume flow, per defined SLAs on number of cases handled, closure timelines and on effectiveness..

Qualification - Requirements :
- 5-6 years of specialized Employee relations / HR Generalist experience, including the support of a full range of personnel activities is desirable. Quality exposure to ER best practices with experience of working in an international company.
- Strong analytical ability of mind (root cause analysis) and proven ability to identify/ resolve people issues and extract strategic insights from large data sets.
- Strong competence in Case Management, conducting Investigations & ER Analytics. - Must have an understanding of current employment law.
- Proven ability of quickly building relationships and gaining credibility with Managers/ Peer groups.
- Excellent ability to balance multiple/conflicting priorities with a strong history of quickly gaining credibility.
- Exposure to Technologies like People Soft, SAP as well as strong experience and expertise in working on Excel, PowerPoint and other CRM tools to manage various data needs.
- Graduate Degree from a reputed college with a Post Graduate, MBA/ PGDBM / PM-IR is essential.
