Primary Responsibilities :
- Develop, perform, and manage the analyses of business and financial metrics as well as performance measures
- Develop and maintain financial reports to clearly communicate actual results, forecasted performance, and variances to plan,forecast and budget
- Understand and incorporate industry specific metrics into reports to highlight relevant trends and support fact-based business decisions
- Develop, perform and manage all aspects of financial planning, budgeting and forecasting
- Work closely with the business to develop, recommend and establish strategies, plans and processes to improve profitability and cost efficiencies
- Produce clear, well-formatted reports that communicate a clear, compelling message for their stakeholders Senior Financial Analyst

Purpose of Job :
- To support the submission of timely, accurate, and complete financial regulatory reports, associated audits, and responses to regulatory inquires, and internal and external ad-hoc requests.
The individual will :
- Be responsible for supporting the completion and submission of all regulatory financial reports for the select markets.)
- Coordinate the completion of regulatory audits of these financial regulatory reports, working with the appropriate internal health plan personnel, business unit financial and operational staffs;
- Be responsible for fielding regulatory desk review inquires and any supplemental ad-hoc requests
- Analyze, design, develop and implement data and process models related to new program, product and area expansion requirements.
Qualifications :
- Bachelor in Accounting or equivalent
- Minimum of 5-7 years experience in financial accounting
- Strong working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP); Statutory Accounting Principles (SAP) preferred
- Strong analytical and project management skills. Previous experience in preparing financial schedules for regulatory agencies preferred
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Ability to perform effectively in matrix relationships
- Ability to understand and influence the necessary and appropriate actions to ensure completion and filing of all required reports by mandated deadlines
- Expertise in financial analysis/ability to think outside the box
- Strong interpersonal skills, ability to work with all levels of management across all functional areas and local, regional, and corporate entities
- Change agent capability, working with management to identify value-added opportunities and develop creative approaches to problem solving related to financial regulatory reporting
Preferred :
- Bachelor in Accounting, or Chartered Accountant or MBA (Finance) or equivalent
- Demonstrate technical and financial understanding of facility, physician and other provider claim submissions and contracts, claim system operations, and the resulting manipulation of data into financial and IBNR reporting information used for financial regulatory reporting.
Responsibilities :
- Support the accurate completion of all required financial reports within mandated deadlines
- Support that regulatory financial reports are compliant with regulatory requirements
- Review applicable state communications and stay current on multiple state financial reporting requirements;- Assist in the preparation of written responses to routine inquiries and questions received from state regulatory agencies related to the financial regulatory reports
- Regularly update the management as reporting requirements change
- Support a wide range of state reporting efforts
- Review and interpret financial statements
- Validate source data received from multiple sources (i.e. claim processing systems, data warehouses, Excel models, GL, etc.)
- Cross check and final data validation of tables of the required fillings
- Participate in the process improvement and automation initiatives designed to reduce number of man hours involved in the filing process and increase accuracy of reported data
- Work extensively with IT, Actuarial, Medical Economics, and Accounting departments especially during times of business and technology changes. Understand the implications of, for example, transition to new claim processing system and be able to operationalize the change in the least disruptive way.
Competencies Required :
- Proficiency in MS Excel word
- End user experience in usage of MS Access
- Excellent organizational and follow up skills
- Attention to detail.
Competencies preferred :
- Knowledge of SQL, SAS, VB, Essbase, PeopleSoft
- Shift : 2.30 PM to 12.00 AM (India Time); US shift (6 PM to 3 AM - India time) during close for 2 weeks in a quarter
- Should be flexible for long hours in case of urgency

- Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance or equivalent work experience
- 4+ years of financial and/or accounting experience
- Proficient in MS Excel and other MS Office products
