Unit Head - Factory Operations - Fruits & Vegetables

We are looking candidates for "Unit Head" position with one of our leading brand in Retail (Fruits & Vegetables).

Education : PG-Agriculture science

Job Responsibility :

- Incumbent should have very good exposure in factory operation and later on he moved into sales head/Business head role.

- Preference of the candidates would be from foods/vegetable/Fruits/Juices category business handling.

- To plan and formulate strategies and tactical plans for the achievement of current business goals, drive setting of optimal business and functional targets, and evolve long-term business strategies for various depts. to meet current & future business goals

- To ensure timely supply of fresh fruit and vegetables and other products to Sales as per the requirement and at benchmark quality standards.

- To ensure procurement of fresh fruits and vegetables at competitive prices from farmers associations and wholesale market, through effective planning and monitoring.

- To align with the overall business plan and drive the annual business planning and budgeting exercise and establish adequate monitoring, reporting and control mechanisms. Monitor performance and take corrective actions so as to keep the performance of the unit aligned with the annual business plan.

- To facilitate intra and inter departmental coordination, monitor their smooth functioning and ensure involvement of all functions in achievement of the unit's targets.

- To promote optimal utilization of the Unit's resources by managing people and infrastructure productivity, driving continuous improvement and cost reduction, ensuring quality production and capacity utilization in line with industry standards and business strategy

- To facilitate harmonious industrial relations and create a conducive and congenial environment in the unit for promoting creativity and innovation amongst the employees in coordination with SBU HR Head.

- To continuously create and upgrade facilities at the Unit to support higher quality standards and the needs of the marketing.

- To provide guidance and developmental inputs to the senior management team and facilitate succession planning for them in coordination with SBU HR Head.

- Coordinating with marketing and finance heads of SBU for matters related to supplies, costing etc.

- To drive organizational efficiencies and enhance productivity through focused initiatives through TPM/ 6 Sigma, etc. in the unit in coordination with SBU HR Head.

- To drive TQM activities in the unit (kaizen, housekeeping etc) motivating employees for effecting continuous improvements in their areas of working, reviewing progress, during monthly Unit BRM in coordination with SBU HR Head.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES: (listed in order of priority)

- To act as Factory manager under Factories act - ensuring compliance of Factories Act in the unit

- To ensure compliance under various acts applicable on the unit.
