Business Context and Main Purpose of the Job
ONE BASIS Manager Management team of discipline managers will have individual responsibility for managing and supporting functions. These discipline managers will be accountable for their corresponding teams individuals career planning (targets, objectives, timescales & training requirements), recruitment of new team members, their initial and ongoing technical skills training and development programmes, quality assurance of the team's work (development & reporting of KPI- s), regular analysis and reporting of the team's activities (responsible for SME workload allocations & under or over utilization reporting back to SAP STS Mgr) & regular performance appraisals of team members. They will also be responsible for inter team collaboration & jointly governed resource planning.
One BASIS Manager is responsible for operational & project based documentation are kept up to date and are fit for purpose in terms of quality & consistency. The One BASIS Manager will also ensure the OOO/L3 support ROTA is in place for projects & run, staff rotation between the supporting functions will be undertaken, ensure suitable team governance & controls are in place (forums, risk & issue mgmt. etc.)
The One BASIS Manager is to be a - hands on- role from a technical mgmt. perspective and is expected to be able to converse with the function/discipline directors & teams on SAP related issues & to be close to any ongoing incidents, to under write any remediation/resolution plans.
One BASIS Manager is expected to stay abreast of core SAP technology developments &/or service capabilities for key vendors (as could lead to influencing Technology roadmaps & associated capabilities undertaken) & as such is expected to attend technology update sessions, SAPPHIRE, TechEd or other similarly suitable vendor forums ongoing.
One BASIS Manager is expected to build operational efficiency by identifying areas, where automation capability can assist strengthening organisation BASIS and security deliverables.

- Ideally educated to degree standard or equivalent, with related vocational qualifications e.g. ITIL, PMI, Prince2, TOGAF

- Is able to absorb rapidly new technical information and apply it effectively
- Practices the - art of the possible-, thinking outside the box in order to turn problems into opportunities
- Initiates and influences relationships with and between key stakeholders, in, management and implementation, acting as a primary point of contact for senior stakeholders and influencers

Essential
- 12+ years IT Project/Architecture/Mgmt experience)
- Strong leader, team mgmt. experience
- Successful track record of leading Programs/portfolios.
- Successful track record of leading a team in a multi-cultural and multi-national environment
- Successful track record of building relationships across the (SIC) Programmes / Portfolio's and Business environment in which the (SIC) Programmes / Projects are delivering
- Demonstrated ability to develop & ensure alignment to QA processes
- Demonstrated ability to use Programme / Project control processes
- Excellent Communication ability (written / verbal)
- Excellent Stakeholder Management skills
- Management toolset (Clarity, MS Project and MS Office Suite)
- Demonstrated ability to use collaboration tools (Audio Conferencing, Video Conferencing, Live Meeting, Share-point)
- Broad understanding of SAP products in a Global Environment/ context
- Broad knowledge of Global SAP infrastructure requirements (inc. storage, network, servers, tooling, capacity management & planning
- Broad knowledge of SAP Landscape management (System refreshes and release cycles)
- Broad knowledge of IBM infrastructure and products (pSeries frames, TSM, Db2, TSA, PowerHA) (- 5yrs)
Desirable:
- Educated to degree level or holds a professional qualification
- ITIL/v3 Foundation/Practitioner/Manager
- PMI (or equivalent) certification
