Senior Manager - R2R - Process Excellence

Job Description : Process Excellence Manager - Record to Report (MR)

Job Location: Bengaluru, India

Reporting to: Senior Manager - R2R, Process Excellence

Vision and Purpose :

The Process Excellence manager role owns & leads all Management accounting and reporting related Processes, both projects & continuous improvements. R2R Management accounting & reporting covers the following activities :

- Data Hygiene in compliance to SCOA mandate

- Cost Center Accounting

- Profitability Analysis (COPA)

- Month End Closing (MEC) related processes

- MEC Reporting

- Annual changes to reporting requirements

The role requires functional expertise in the end to end Management Accounting & Reporting related processes along with an appreciation of required technology

The Process Excellence Manager is expected to drive standardized process across various transaction systems in different regions with a focus on :

- Delivering integrated process design, satisfying business needs, and ensuring compliance with the overarching process and service guidelines

- Delivering efficiencies & complexity reduction

- Continuous improvement on existing processes through an input from internal & external benchmarking

In addition, this role would be an interface between IT and business functions, ensuring good governance on timely delivery of quality solutions to agreed business processes at the least possible cost & Embedding the new ways of working amongst respective functions / end users.

Accountabilities and Responsibilities :

- Defining the Conceptual Design

- Embed related financial controls as part of process design

- Working closely with the IT Innovation and Landscape teams to crystallize the business requirements into IT requirements.

- Manage and participate in process improvement projects, ensuring a smooth integration of new business processes and tools with organisational structure and culture.

- Support the implementation of new or amended services, processes, procedures, tools and techniques

- Support training and testing where appropriate and educate extended user base on solutions as required

- Create and maintain process knowledge to be made available by way of process documentation i.e: GPM / Narratives / DTP

- Deliver measurable benefits to business through process standardization / harmonization and operational efficiency

- Support the definition of operational acceptance criteria for new and changed processes

- Monitor and ensure process compliance - work with wider stakeholders within Unilever and Service Providers to ensure the service is working as desired

- Determine, develop and monitor monthly performance measures specific to the new process

- Capture, build and share internal and external best practices

- Running Communities of practice to increase adoption

In short, the Process Excellence manager is the custodian of a particular R2R process and he / she is responsible in driving robust and fit for purpose solutions in the R2R area by working closely with business, Regional Hubs, IT Innovation SME, Landscape Teams and Solution Delivery Managers.
