Main Job Purpose:

Within the BFS organisation, the Record to Report (R2R) service line is currently responsible for the Group Financial Accounting and IFRS Reporting Processes. These services are delivered to over 100 countries worldwide from six Unilever Centers in Bangalore, Shanghai, Katowice, Mexico, Brazil and Manila, and through two third party service providers, IBM and Capgemini.

The R2R Service Line has a proven track record of high quality service and cost performance. A recent external benchmarking exercise demonstrated that the end-to-end R2R cost base is significantly lower than the best in class companies in the FMCG industry.

As part of the R2R Service Line, the Global R2R Manager role offers a great opportunity for developing a high calibre Finance Business Manager in the Accounting and Reporting area. This role is responsible for supporting Global R2R Senior Manager and Global R2R Lead Director in driving the global R2R strategic agenda, while ensuring that that agreed in-year global R2R objectives and targets are achieved. This role partners regularly with leadership teams for Business & Finance Services, Group Chief Accounting Department (GCAD) Leadership and the global Future Finance-Controlling & Expertise Workstream. A successful candidate is also expected display strong leadership presence, influence and thought leadership as they collaborate with the global Future Finance - Controlling & Expertise Workstream and the global R2R community (R2R Excellence Network), including our six Operating Centers, two third party service providers, Process Excellence and GCAD.

Key Responsibilities:

He/she will report to Global R2R Senior Manager. His/her responsibility areas will include, but not limited to, the following:

- Process of tracking end to end R2R service quality and identifying remedial actions,

- Analysing and reporting on R2R global performance metrics through the shared service performance dashboard and R2R Health Scorecard,

- Partnering with R2R Process Excellence to develop practical solutions to performance improvement initiatives,

- Continuously challenging the current performance metrics for relevance and developing new ones,

- Leading implementation of best practice R2R process and tools,

- Working with our third party service providers to ensure that the SLAs are defined and up to date to deliver the best quality services,

- Drive end-to-end continuous improvement and - quality at source- mindset, enabled by Lean Six Sigma root cause analysis techniques,

- Main contact to ETS Finance Business Partners and accountable for accurate R2R cost reporting and budgeting,

- Managing and developing a WL1 team member,

- Leading R2R benchmarking database, when required; and

- Supporting R2R Global R2R Lead Director for ad hoc information request and initiatives.

Skills/ Experience/ Qualifications:

- University Graduate / Qualified accountant (or similar experience)

- Strong R2R experience required, internal/external audit experience beneficial

- Experience in Finance Business Partnering and Finance systems and processes
