Role - Cloud Design Architect  Main Accountabilities   Primarily the role has responsibility for participating in the delivery of Solution Designs. This includes the detailed specification of agreed systems architectures, identifying the components needed to meet the present and future requirements and the inter relationships between these components.  Scope and Responsibilities:  - Follow standard processes i.e. Project Funnel, Security and Architecture Quality.  - Utilise standard tools i.e GAR and CDB  - Apply standard frameworks i.e. ITIL & TOGAF, Unilever Architecture Framework.  Detail Focus :   The successful candidate will need to develop a complete Solution Designs that cover all technical aspects of the Solutions Build, this will include knowledge of existing environments and good documentation to show selected configuration and reasons for the design decisions being made. For projects the Designer Architect will produce detailed designs with due consideration for:  - Conformance to existing approved solution patterns based on current CTO architecture principals   - Compatibility with future strategy  - Integration with existing systems  - Processing capacity provisioning against business requirements to ensure asset sweating.   - Meets current SLA, and contributes to establishment of service specific SLA where required  - Ease Of Maintenance   Problem Solving :   Solution requirements will need to be translated into detailed Solution Designs that can be configured, integrated and deployed in the Unilever Infrastructure  - Providing technical consultancy at project kick off meetings, identifying technical issues and risks  - Understanding business demand forecasts and expectations, ensuring that each customer fully understands the impact in terms before Enterprise creates a full project team to deliver the solution.   - Understand the decision criteria behind selected IT strategies and the link between IT strategy and cost effectiveness in capacity deployment when providing Solution Designs.  Change Management:   Primarily the role will be - hands off- but there will be a requirement for active participation in capability development projects. The Solution Designer is expected to:  - Providing contributions and technical assistance to grow & maintain the portfolio of capability solutions e.g. generic hosting on farms.   - Contribute to the ongoing maintenance of Architectural documentation and Standard Building Blocks- based on design requirements.  - Where appropriate be responsible for standards and documentation working in collaboration with CTO / ES Hosting to ensure that new products are understood and can be integrated within designs.  Communication:   A key aspect of the Solution Designer role is ensuring clarity on the requirements received and the services provided to meet those requirements. Interaction with the portfolio and project teams and with peers in other departments / Unilever organisations is integral to the role and the Solution Designer will be expected to be able to communicate with colleagues spanning the technical spectrum.   Support:   Team members involved in design of solutions may be called upon to provide solution expertise and may also from time to time be engaged on Escalated support for existing Services/Platforms.   Networking: The Solution Designer is also expected to maintain a network of contacts across the wider Unilever IT community
