CD Analytics Lead - Route To Market

Position Summary :

This is an exciting new role in the Analytics Capability group in Information & Analytics, which is tasked with the mandate to drive Analytics @ Scale across Markets, Functions and Categories in Unilever. It has two main accountabilities :

1. Partner with CD RTM COE to drive business value through advanced analytics and big data capabilities

2. Contribute to the development of the global analytics agenda for Unilever

Location: Bangalore / Mumbai

Work Level: WL2C

Reporting: Reports to Global Analytics Director, Information & Analytics, ETS.

Expected Work :

- The vision for the Analytics Capability group is to grow the business with smarter decisions enabled by analytics. The team is organised in Hub & Spoke arrangement; the Spokes partnering with the business units on analytics agenda and accountable to them for quality delivery of agreed capabilities on time in full. The Hub brings in the @ scale component including an effective data science delivery capability, analytics R&D and building re-usable analytics assets.

- This role will lead the (I&A) CD Analytics RTM Spoke and will be part of the Global Analytics Capability Leadership Team.

- The role will be responsible for, jointly with CD COE business analytics lead, for identification and value delivery from opportunities through leveraging advanced analytics and big data. More specifically this role will own the IQ Analytics engine in - Leveredge . Leveredge is live in SEAA, Africa and LATAM.

This role would focus on Developing and Emerging Markets (D&E Markets) in line with the remit of CD COE.

Key Accountabilities/Deliverables :

- Partner with the business, particularly the Business Analytics Lead(s) and CD Teams in countries, in identification of business needs and opportunities which can be powered with Advanced Analytics and Big Data. Aspiration is to optimise every decision in CD through data and analytics!

- Deliver continuous improvements on IQ analytics model with an aspiration to create a customised assortment for each store.

- Ensure on-time in full delivery of IQ recommendations in partnership with LE / IQ Platform teams.

- Enable an agile experimentation (test & learn) environment to help explore ideas. Bring in experience to promote understanding of the art of possible with analytics.

- Work with CD COE to build and maintain an Analytics Roadmap for each D&E market, with emphasis on short to medium duration projects with high speed to value

- Lead the delivery of the agreed capabilities (experiments, projects). Understand and apply Analytics Framework, Delivery model and Best Practice guidelines.

- Create and maintain project work packages based on business need. Specify packages of work to be executed by other parts of the ecosystem. Agree project work packages with suppliers (external and internal) within agreed budgetary guidelines.

- Support transition to BAU incl. embedding solution in business process & value tracking

Resources :

The position will no direct Unilever reports to begin with. Position has a team of about 14 people from various analytics service providers. It is expected that we will have 1-2 WL1 in near future to help engagement with the startup/external ecosystem on rapid innovation.

Relevant Experience :

- At least 6-8 years of experience in working on Advanced Analytics; working either in analytics consulting role or pre-sales or data science solution delivery lead.

- MBA or Masters in Math/Operations Research or Professional qualification in relevant field.

- Passion for understanding the drivers for business and delivering value.

- Extensive experience solving analytical problems using quantitative approaches. A strong passion for empirical research and for answering hard questions with data.

- Demonstrated experience in leading team in selection of analytics modelling approach and algorithms (Machine Learning, Linear & Non Linear Techniques, Image and Video analytics etc) for a given business problem

- Can perform non-complex analytics (clustering, regression) independently.

- Has experience on working with Analytics modelling tools, Big Data and Data Blending and Front-end reporting tools

- Demonstrated record of strong consultation, interpersonal and influencing skills.

- Experience working in a multi-location global team environment
