About the Role :

- Unifi's approach to building stake holder engagement has always centred around communicating our underlying fundamental thesis that drive our products, their portfolio strategies and of course the rationale behind the portfolio constituents. Once you familiarize yourself with Unifi's bouquet of funds (listed under Portfolio Management at unificap.com), you will appreciate the need to thoroughly internalize the fundamental rationale behind a particular offering, so as to truly understand its positioning - both from a research as well as client communication perspective.

- For the first time, we have designed a role that will support Unifi's 10-member strong research team (based out of Chennai), in supporting our primary and secondary research activities in Mumbai along with supporting our client relationship team in communicating the thesis and rationales of our funds and their holdings to our investors.

(A) About 50% of your role would be appropriated in supporting Unifi's research team in its day to day research activities. While this is a broad scope, in brief, this would entail meeting management of investee companies and those under diligence and Primary research into new universe of ideas

(B) And about 50% of your role would revolve around supporting Unifi's 10-member strong client engagement team in Mumbai. Your role here would revolve around (A) internalizing the clients understanding of Unifi's niche thematic offerings and (B) articulating the fundamentals behind our funds, holdings, and line of thought and everything in between. The role will also support the CXO's initiatives in expanding the reach among CFPs, family offices, wealth management firms as well as independent financial advisors (IFA).

Please note - The candidate will have no direct sales function or primary ideation responsibilities, but initiatives on either front will be much appreciated, recognized and rewarded. The candidate should be comfortable with structuring multiple co-ordination requests from stakeholders within and outside the firm.

- The ideal candidate will have had a background in Equity Research with between 3-4 years of experience and must personally enjoy communicating ideas and the underlying thesis to a wide cross-section of stakeholders. It goes without saying, strong oral and written communication skills are imperative along with pleasant interactive skills. Core understanding of stock markets and investment products is necessary. Passion to understand the merit of various niche investment products and participate in internal research briefings is important. Prior experience in similar roles with fund houses in India is preferred.
