Manager - Credit(Retail Loans)
1. JOB SUMMARY :
The credit manager position is accountable for designing & implementation of robust credit policy and process for retail loans and managing the execution of technology driven credit underwriting process.
2. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES :
Business :
- Responsible for designing credit policies for all retail loans- Personal loans, Two Wheeler loans, Small ticket size loans etc.
- Responsible for reviewing and updating the policy regularly.
- Responsible for designing credit scoring models and testing for implementation
- Responsible for monitoring the credit granting process and ensuring adherence to the laid down policies & procedures
- Responsible for conducting periodic credit reviews with regional underwriting teams
- Keep track of policy deviations and measure the performance of such loans
Customer :
- To travel to different business geographies to understand the business challenges, customer needs and credit assessment qualities
- Responsible for interacting with customers & understand their business & personally visit large credit applications
- Responsible for managing relations with credit reporting agencies, LOS/LMS providers, verification agencies and RCUs
- Responsible formaintaining relationships with regional credit functions, business and collection teams.
- Responsible for coordinating with audit, legal, vigilance, operations and customer service team for matters relating to retail loans.
- Responsible for carrying out regular dealer / DSA meetings and obtaining market feedback from dealers.
- Responsible for ensuring service related issues are discussed and reviewed.
Internal process :
- Responsible for designing and standardizing Credit appraisal memos and other documents
- Responsible for suggesting approval guidelines for exceptional cases recommended by credit staff
- Responsible for defining the negotiable terms for different retails products
- Responsible for ensuring sample check of applications
- Responsible to consistently review and identify redundant processes for elimination.
- Responsible to ensure process & policy change initiatives optimize the turnaround time for customer service delivery
- Responsible to ensure credit decision making at regions are accurate and within defined TAT
- Responsible to regularly monitor delinquencies / early mortality/ nonstarters accounts. Responsible for designing portfolio based early warning signals to contain credit risk.
- Responsible for monitoring late payments and bounce charges collections. Responsible to ensure charges creation in a system and overseeing the charges waiver process.
- Responsible for reviewing of the portfolio with respect to delinquency/losses/fraud on the portfolio by monitoring Flow Rates and net Credit Losses.
- Responsible for working with collections team to contain credit losses timely
- Responsible for complying with Audit on all aspects as stipulated by the Head office
Learning & Performance :
- Responsible for keeping abreast of the changes in the industry and recommend suitable policy and process changes to management.
- Responsible for ensuring that all credit staff and branch staff are updated on the policy and process changes.
- Responsible for ensuring timely authorization of approval authorities and manage Approval grid
3. ROLE REQUIREMENTS :
- Desired Qualification MBA or Post-graduation in Business management with 8-10 years of experience in define credit policy & underwriting retail loans preferably personal loans and other retail loans.
- Preferred Languages: English, Hindi, and proficiency in one regional language.
- Desired Experience 8-10 years of experience in credit role handling different retail loans.
