Job Profile:
- The incumbent for this role would lead the accounting department of 2 - 3 sites of the company and play an important role in advising the India CFO on critical financial matters.
- He would also play a vital role in driving the cost containment initiatives, and implementing best practices across the department.
Key Responsibilities:
- Driving the accounting function for the company's India site.
- Developing and overseeing accounting policies and procedures to meet both current and future business models.
- Overseeing external audit, reviewing and analyzing results and recommending approvals for audited financial statements.
- Ensuring the setup is in compliance with all internal policies and relevant external regulations and assuring that filings are completed in a timely manner.
- Designing and managing financial policies/systems, rules and regulations and administrating their implementation.
- Advising and influencing senior management on decisions that impact business direction.
- Overseeing continuous improvement of accounting and financial processes and development of team with the goal to achieve best practices and optimal output.
- Developing and managing the internal review function to ensure that finance & operations controls and policies are complied with in the provincial and field offices. Ensuring effective follow up processes are in place.
- Managing vendor payments for the company.
- Setting up processes for employee reimbursements and administrating the same.
- Managing and mentoring a team of professionals to ensure maximum productivity.
Experience & Background:
- The candidate must be a seasoned professional with at least 10 years of combined experience in the finance and accounting functions.
- Candidate must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- The incumbent for this role must have an experience of working with teams across multiple geographies in India and abroad.
- Candidates with experience of working in large Indian corporate or MNC's would be preferred for this role.
- Considering that the person will liaise with the top management of the company, he should have a personable manner and should be able to build strong credibility with them.
- Prior experience in successfully managing high performing teams would be considered useful.
Educational Qualification:
- Completion of a bachelor's degree at an accredited college or university.
- The candidate should be a certified Chartered Accountant.
- Additional educational credentials in finance and accounting functions will be desirable.
