Udaan - Zonal Collection Manager

Udaan is a B2B ecommerce platform that brings traders, wholesalers, distributors, retailers, and manufacturers in India on to a single platform. Our goal is to make 'doing business' easy in India & make B2B commerce convenient and efficient.

Udaan Capital is the NBFC arm of Udaan & offers credit services to buyers and sellers on and off Udaan's B2B ecommerce platform to grow their business further. This space is largely untapped with less than 10% of MSMEs having access to working capital loans from financial institutions. In this way, Udaan is uniquely positioned to formalize & scale trade credit.

Job Responsibilities :

- Strategizing and driving collections across the zone.

- Managing 60+ days past due and above.

- Developing and implementing segmented collection strategies and processes depending on bucket/ area/ product/ customer behaviour etc.

- Building and managing an engaged collections team that takes pride in their work.

- Contributing to overall business strategy and annual budget process.

- Recruiting, coaching, and mentoring the team; identifying team goals.

Functional Competencies :

- Results Orientation: Deliver on daily numbers, short-term goals and long-term milestones set by business. Consistently deliver impact commensurate to the role.

- Business Acumen: Analyse the effectiveness of the processes on a day-to-day basis and course correct. Has deep sense of ground reality and leverages it to achieve results.

- Data Driven/ Analytical: Drive specific process efficiency metrics and be accountable to drive data-driven decision making.

- Team Management: Recruit, mentor and motivate the team to achieve targets on regular basis. Drive the team and deliver outcomes for self and team.

- Stakeholder Management: Manage disagreements maturely and align stakeholders. Communicate proactively and help bring clarity around deliverables and owners

KRAs & KPIs of the role :

- Collection targets achieved across due months for the cluster for the cluster

- Improve the collection cost metric, i.e., cost incurred for every rupee collected.

- Timely completion of operational activities across the zone.

- High customer satisfaction in terms of service.

- Compliance on code of conduct

- Adequate manpower presence on field - hiring against open positions.

- Training, coaching and performance incentivization of the entire team.

Candidate Profile :

- Must have at least 10 years' experience in setting up operations from scratch and scaling them. Experience must include entrepreneurial and/or credit collections stints.

- Must have thorough understanding of hard bucket collections.

- Must have experience in managing large teams of at least 250 + members including the field team.

- Preferably having experience in BFSI or Fintech Industries.

- Having commercial vehicle experience will be an added advantage.

- Must have full time MBA education background.
